Good but...

I don’t need to add details as these are well covered by other reviewers. I have deducted one star as, although a lovely site, it is quite compact and caravans are close together. Locally, Armagh is nice and full of interest. Newry is less so. Markethill, the nearest place has a brilliant supermarket and, up the Main Street, a busy little bakery. Both worth a visit. Visiting places we averaged about 50 miles a day driving seeing NT properties and a day trip to Belfast. Being school holiday time the adjacent glamping site, the quirky Teepee Valley, can be a little noisy in the evening from children letting off steam. Alternatives nearby are Clare Glen, a local authority site, and Gosford Forest Park. Both offer local walking that Cusher Valley doesn’t. Dogs cannot pass through the Teepee site but take them out onto the road and along a bit to walk to a large field below Teepee for an off-lead romp.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our CL. As members ourselves we use the CL network widely in Northern Ireland and the mainland and have visited so many different and beautiful CLs.

However, when we see a 'Good....BUT'..it certainly draws our attention in more, so I would like to address the 'buts' for the benefit of other visitors

Our site is stated as 0.5 acres (with more than the recommended distance between vans)  so when we have five vans in with awnings, windshields, owners, dogs, and cars ..it might certainly appear compact...especially in peak season when the site is full. However, this has never been an issue before and we certainly do not advertise it as a large field/meadow or even a larger Forest Park/Glen with forest walks or river walks. It is a little 0.5 acre, beautifully landscaped and well maintained CL, with hardstandings and grassed areas, shower, toilets, information cabin, in the typical farming countryside, with welcoming hosts/wardens who are always on site and... all just for £12.50 a night.

The reason we ask dog owners to walk 100m down a quiet road and into the 8-acre field to allow their dogs 'let off' steam, is that there are strict hygiene rules around our self-catering properties and accommodation at Tepee Valley Campsite. In the past, we have had CAMC members allowing their dogs to foul right next to children playing. So we find that asking dogs to be walked a 100 meters away from the CL rather than right next to it is best for all our customers.

We have busy summer periods, both in the popular CL and in the award-winning glampsite so perhaps coming out of season would suit some people better.
