July 2019

The pitching area is accessed via a dedicated gate and driveway. It is screened by mature hedging to enable some privacy to the pitches, of which there are six of a reasonable size, to enable some rotation. This still leaves some spare space in the middle so the overall feel is quite spacious. Grass was cut close, pitches are relatively level, though blocks would be needed for two pitches at least. The electricity supply (individual to each pitch) is 6a rated, so some care is needed about usage. On our arrival the main breaker had tripped, so needed resetting. A display board shows which pitch to take up, which in our case wasn't up to date - but the owner lives on site and was easily available. Prepayment for the pitch is made via the owner's website http://www.cwm-deri.co.uk/; The toilet is a single stand alone unit (shared use with an adjacent pitching area, non CC). Shower is also shared use, this also single unit. Both facilities were modern, clean, and functional (shower 50p coin needed for about 5 mins use). Access to the vineyard facilities extends to a good restaurant, shop (selling local craft and groceries) and a self guided walk of the vineyard itself. This is a very quiet location. Only disturbance was a refuse wagon one morning. Views of the locality show it is a really pretty area. We were made very welcome at this CL, which is adults only; most of our neighbours had dogs with them.

Lovely little site

Stayed here for one night. Good value at £14 with EHU. Lovely surroundings and vineyard. Very quiet. Nice pitches. Very warm welcome from Arthur and Danny. Owners have a young dog and a cat which are often on the site around the pitches meaning you cant leave anything unattended. Showers 50p - run the hot tap on the outside of the building until it runs warm before going into the shower otherwise it runs cold. Recommended.

Lovely & quiet but do not count on there being enough electricity.

Booked this site for 5 nights and left a day early. The site is lovely and quiet and completely secluded. On arrival I was handed a sheet telling me about all the site information. One of the things it mentioned was, "The (electricity) hooks-ups are quite sensitive to over-loading; moisture or faulty connections." The level of electricity is also very low, unusually so. After the third night our caravan battery had been drained completely and although there was charge going in to the van it was so low it could not support the fridge, the CD player / radio and the water pump was struggling. We ended up putting the fridge on gas, turning the hot water off completely and having everything that went through the battery off most of the remaining time. The other issue was the shower. No where on the information sheet does it say that you need a 50p piece for 5 minutes. On arrival I was not told either. Luckily I had read some of the reviews and knew about it. The shower only gets hot after it has run for a while so you really need to two 50p pieces. The day before leaving I asked for help with the electrics and the attitude of the chap was that the problem was not likely to be his electricity supply but rather my 35 year old van. After leaving early we went to a club site and everything started working again. Other guests had experience fuses tripping. Would I visit again? The answer would have to be no. If they sorted the electricity out and the shower then it would be a lovely little site.

Cwm Deri Vineyard

Having read the previous reviews, I'm left wondering if we stayed at the same site. Access is not straight forward, but neither is it that difficult. Take the A40 from Carmarthen then the A4075. Turning right onto B roads just after Oakwood Theme Park. The vineyard is signposted from here with only the final 250 yards being single track. A board informs you of your pitch number but you are asked to check in before pitching up. Estate staff were always helpful and friendly. The CL is sheltered by hedges and trees and is gently sloping. Grass was short and each pitch has it's own 6A hookup (perfectly manageable if you're sensible). Freshwater, waste, chemical disposal and bins are sited just to the side, as is the wc. A shower is available but we didn't use it. We managed perfectly fine with our directional status ariel, managing to pick up all the main digital channels. Orange/EE signal was fine for calls and texts and O2/Tesco had medium strength 4G. A little road noise from the adjacent lane but nothing to write home about.

An honest and frank review

Not a great start to our holiday, we arrived to find our 'hard standing' pitch which we were told was adjacent to the car park was actually IN the car park meaning we were sharing our pitch with cars and visitors to the vineyard, a very uncomfortable experience and one I do not wish to repeat! There is absolutely NO TV signal in this area. The shower which costs 50p is also in the car park meaning you have to walk through the visitors to get to it.....on the plus side it is lovely and hot. After 2 nights a grass pitch became available and we moved quicker than I've ever moved in my life!!! The grass pitches are lovely (apart from copious amounts of dog mess, not the sites fault) BUT you only have 6amp electricity, which means that if you try to run more than one appliance at a time it will trip constantly, I honestly thought it was a typing error as I've never encountered 6amp before! The staff were friendly and helpful. The wine tasting was lovely as was the Sunday lunch but unfortunately we won't be returning.

Gem of a Find!

We happened upon this wonderful site whilst looking on the web for a stopover near to Haverfordwest. We couldn't believe our luck when we saw it was on a vineyard. Then we found a Groupon voucher for the full winetasting experience with cheese and crackers, which was £10 for the both of us. Heaven! We had our dog with us so sat outside (it was a beautiful day). Then we bought a couple of bottles of wine to take home with us. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. The site itself was beautiful. Spacious grass pitches, sheltered by hedges. We have a motorhome and use all of our facilities so I can't comment on the shower or toilet except to say that the toilet looked clean and pleasant. You can't use a regular electric kettle on the hook up but that wasn't a problem for us as we just used our gas one. £14 with hook up for 2 is so reasonable when you think how much some sites charge. It was so quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend!

Not Impressed.....

Lets start with the good bits.. Good size pitches with easy access and the shower 50p is to die for but.. On arrival we thought there was someone still occupying our pitch and we were told to 'go and have a word with them' !! Not stated that 'hook-up' is about 7 amp DON'T try to boil a kettle. The toilet has only cold water.  We requested soap and loo paper to be put in the toilet (twice).. over 24 hours. The stated free Wi-Fi is only from 9-5 and only in there cafe. We were made to feel like an inconvenience.

CL within Vineyard

Had a 2 night stay here primarily to sample the wine and food here. Access to the site was good - I was expecting very long narrow roads but was pleasantly surprised at ease of access. Pitches were in a paddock close to the vineyard and all spacious. All usual facilities provided - hook up, water, waste, chemical waste disposal, toilet, shower etc. Facilities excellent except shower which was suffering from a blockage when we were there. Lunch in restaurant very good value and tasty. Did the wine tasting and bought a couple of bottles to take back home. Overall excellent CL and will definitely return some day.

Peaceful 5 night stay.

Lovely, peaceful 5 nights at the end of May.Adult only site was a real bonus! Sunday lunch was great value for money - staff friendly and helpful. Our satnav took us on wrong A road for directions in handbook but we had google mapped this site and was familiar with area. We are planning a return visit next year. Would recommend this site for a relaxing stay.
