A lovely place to spend a few days

The CL is set in a well tended area with some pitches having hedges providing privacy. The facilities are more than adequate and were cleaned throughly and regularly. Although is a lovely area, there is no where readily accessible to walk to which means a car journey for everything (including a pint of milk). Interesting places around include Narberth, Carew Tidal Mill and Lawrenny which are all worth a visit. The vineyard offers a tasting of their wine which must be booked in advance with lunch. The lunch was tasty but the wine wasn’t to our taste although this is purely personal preference. The vineyard is for sale at the moment, which perhaps accounts for the unfortunate attitude of some of the staff members. For example, when booked, the site offered both showers and toilets, but a week before arrival we had an email suggesting the showers were only available for the tents and shepherd huts. When we arrived I explained we had no shower and so was, very reluctantly, offered a slot in the shower rota. (Each slot is an hour and there is only one shower so slots get booked up quickly). Perhaps now COVID rules have relaxed in Wales this may have changed. 50p’s are needed for the shower but there is a reluctance to help with change. This is only one small example of several disappointing interactions. These are difficult days which have been stressful for many so I hope the issues I had will resolve as our national Covid picture improves.
