Ease of arrival/welcome

July 2019

The pitching area is accessed via a dedicated gate and driveway. It is screened by mature hedging to enable some privacy to the pitches, of which there are six of a reasonable size, to enable some rotation. This still leaves some spare space in the middle so the overall feel is quite spacious. Grass was cut close, pitches are relatively level, though blocks would be needed for two pitches at least. The electricity supply (individual to each pitch) is 6a rated, so some care is needed about usage. On our arrival the main breaker had tripped, so needed resetting. A display board shows which pitch to take up, which in our case wasn't up to date - but the owner lives on site and was easily available. Prepayment for the pitch is made via the owner's website http://www.cwm-deri.co.uk/; The toilet is a single stand alone unit (shared use with an adjacent pitching area, non CC). Shower is also shared use, this also single unit. Both facilities were modern, clean, and functional (shower 50p coin needed for about 5 mins use). Access to the vineyard facilities extends to a good restaurant, shop (selling local craft and groceries) and a self guided walk of the vineyard itself. This is a very quiet location. Only disturbance was a refuse wagon one morning. Views of the locality show it is a really pretty area. We were made very welcome at this CL, which is adults only; most of our neighbours had dogs with them.
