It's a bit off the beaten track but definitely worth the trip
Very peaceful, superb views and very friendly and helpful owners.
Electric is on a metre which suits us.
Toilet block and water at entrance by the horses in the field.
Would stay again.
Peacefull site
We arrived on site 5 august to be met by Trevor who showed us our pitch and where the water etc. were located. The site is at the top end of a sloping field which give you great views over the valley below. The pitches have a slight incline but Trevor has put plenty of blocks to the rear of the gravelpitches. Within 20 minutes of the site you have botanic gardens of Wales, Paxton tower, pembrey park and beach, Llanelli town and Carmarthen town. Supermarket, chip shop and Chinese takeaway less than 10 minutes away in pontyberem.
Anne and Trevor informed us there was a racemeeting at ffos last racecourse during our stay so needless to say we went and had a great afternoon there managing to pick a few winners. We used a local taxi there and back. We had a lovely chat with them on our penultimate night as they have one of the small barns converted as a social meeting place with tables and chairs etc. And they told us that gold had been found in one of the local Brooks. Anne keeps a few horses and she kindly took us into the stables to meet them. We will be going back.
Excellent CL in peaceful surroundings
Great CL with panoramic views and good facilities. Site is 10 minutes from the Sustran Swiss Valley Cycle path and run by 2 very friendly owners . Pitches are hard standing with pay as you go metered electricity. Leveling blocks are necessary on most of the pitches . Unfortunately our visit was only one night but we will definitely return
Excellent stay. Thank you
Had a lovely 2 night stay. Quiet, peaceful and Anna and Trevor were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. Spectacular views across the Gwendreath valley, overlooking the village of Pontyberem. Would definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.
Beautiful views
We loved this very quiet CL, only us and one other caravan on a bank holiday weekend. It is so peaceful you barely hear anything other than the birds and maybe the horses and the views are amazing out over carmarthen bay to one side and the black mountains to the other. The pitches are sloping so you will need blocks, however there are a pile of breeze blocks close by if you don't have your own. The electric is now metered using £1 or £2 coins and we used just under £9 for 3 nights which I thought was quite reasonable, if you have more than a £1 left at the end of your stay it will be refunded. The toilets are basic but very clean. Anna and Trevor were on hand with a warm welcome when we arrived and had a lovely chat about the area and told us to try the food at their local pub The Waun Wyllt (open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and for sunday lunch) so we went on the Friday night and we were not disappointed, again a lovely warm welcome from all staff and the food was amazing. Thank you both for your hospitality, we will return.
Great Hospitality
Firstly, I must apologise to Anna and Trevor that it has taken so long to get around to writing this review, following a lovely three night stay in August.
The site is off-track, enjoys far-reaching views and is very peaceful.
The highlight for us was the great hospitality from the owners Anna and Trevor. Nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed a very pleasant time with them, the evening before we left.
There is a great Chinese takeaway (they will deliver) and a shop in the nearby village.
A very enjoyable and memorable stay. Thank you Anna and Trevor.

Great
We have just spent 6 nights on this lovely site. on arrival Anna your host was on hand to explain the facilities and choice of any available pitch. This is a new site which has clearly had a lot of money spent on its set up, all pitches are hard standing (levelling blocks required but available if you have none) Electricity is supplied via a slot meter to each pitch so you pay for your use..
There are toilets but we choose to use our own, however I did look in the toilet block and it was immaculate.
All pitches have views over the valley,
Anna and Trevor leave you to your own devices but are always available to help if needed or chat and give advice on the area. Long entry lane available for walk with dogs
Many thanks John, Irena, Chloe and Blue.

Quiet relaxation
Easily accessed from J48 of the M4 along the B4306 (we have a twin axel and it was fine for towing). Once off the B4306 it is about a mile to the site on a single track road. It is very quiet road, and we met a total of 3 vehicles the whole week we were there (never when towing in or out). Entrance to the site is clearly signposted (watch out as online maps will try to take you into the entrance before it, so follow the instructions on the site details). Long sweeping drive, that is easy to tow on. Pitches are a good size but all slope at the front (though, nothing blocks will not sort). The far end spot is the largest and most private, We spent a really restful week pitched here. The views from all pitches are fantastic. I know several people have mentioned how quiet the site is and can only agree with this 100%. It is not often you find a site where you only hear bird song and the buzzing of bees! Anna and Trevor were lovely hosts, who welcomed us on arrival and were always happy to chat. We left a night early due to a change in the weather (high winds) and Anna quickly refunded our unused night. EHU is on meters, which take £1 or £2 coins. This means you can use as little or as much electric you like. We found it a great way to find out what used the most electric. The toilets are serviceable and clean. Water tap was easily accessed (there are plans to bring water to each pitch in the future). Chemical waste was easy to use, and whilst no tap, there was a water butt and watering can which worked just as well. Recycling available. The Swiss Valley cycle route is not currently accessible directly from the site. You can join it in just over a mile in either direction. If you are not a hill fan though, we recommend parking in Tumble where there are a couple of free car parks not far from the route. It is a really lovely route to cycle with a slow incline, rather than lung busting one! The Millennium Coastal cycle route at Llanelli is also another fantastic route. Park at Bynea car park (where you can also join the Swiss Valley route) or near the Pavilion Café (about half-way along the route). Overall a great little CL and just the type of basic site we like. We will certainly revisit if we are in the area again.
Much needed peaceful stay
Was looking for a peaceful site to unwind and very lucky to come across this lovely Cl.
As previous reviewers have said , it really is a little gem.
Easy to access, slightly sloping pitches, metered EHU. Water ,toilets and recycling.
Beautiful, far reaching views and absolute, perfect peace!
Trevor and Anna were so welcoming and helpful and even took pity on this solo traveller and invited me to spend the evening with them.
My little dog was made very welcome too.
Looking forward to coming back again to re-charge my batteries (mine, not the van's ! )

The best
This is a fantastic site, so peaceful and in a lovely location. Anna and Trevor made us very welcome and offered us hospitality and had a good knowledge of the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return and recommend the site to others - actually, I’m reluctant to do that as I want to keep it all to myself :-)
And they love dogs!
