Ease of arrival/welcome

A number of very good points but a bit disappointing

First the good points: 1. The view from the pitches over the fells of the Forest of Bowland is superb. 2. Fully serviced pitches. 3. Greeted by the owner on arrival and given an excellent information pack of the Forest of Bowland and a leaflet with plan of the paths around the nearby Beacon Fell Country Park, from the top of which there are panoramic views over much of Lancashire. Disappointments 1. Notwithstanding that the pitches are laid out with gravel to a high standard and well maintained, there is a lot of gravel and only a limited amount of grass around each pitch. 2. There are no 'off-road' footpaths immediately near the site and although there are some not too far away, it does mean walking a bit along narrow roads on which there are quite a few vehicles. This might not be too important for some people but for us dog owners we like to be able to get off-road from a site straight away if possible. Overall a site well worth visiting but dog owners might find it a bit restrictive
