Ease of arrival/welcome

A site with a view!

Just returned from three nights on this absolute gem of a site having been warmly welcomed by Helen on our arrival. As noted in most reviews the site has wonderful views of the fells... when it's not raining... For most of our stay it did rain but it did relent on our last night only to be replaced snow instead! John came over in the morning to check we were OK and to let us know that the local lanes were all passable if a little wet and slushy - it was a reassuring touch. It's clear this site is owned by members - well laid out, good sized hardstanding pitches each with its own water supply and grey water waste drain. For £14 this is great value for money! The directions to the site are also spot on and well worth following as many of the local lanes can be a little tight and there a couple of hump backed bridges we went over from around Garstang which would be too sharp for a car and caravan... Of the local towns and villages, we enjoyed Chipping although it was out of season and Clitheroe which offered a lot of interesting and individual shops as well as a castle and plenty of decent places to eat. This was our first time here but it certainly won't be our last visit - I suspect availability may be a challenge in the warmer months... It's worth pointing out that any mobile signal is intermittent and we struggled to get decent TV reception but these are hardly show stoppers and won't stop us returning. Many thanks Helen & John!
