Simply the best

Darwood House Farm has been our favourite CL site since we first stayed here 2 years ago and after a wonderful week, which incorporated the Woodhall Spa 40’s weekend, it so remains. A haven of peace & quiet just a couple of miles outside the lovely Wolds town of Woodhall Spa. Sarah is a great hostess - very much around and making sure everything is just right. Really cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Outstanding

Have just had a lovely long weekend on this site. The site is kept in an immaculate state. I would highly recommend staying here. It is within easy reach of Woodhall Spa, where there are lots to do as well as Horncastle, where you can browse antique shops galore. Will definitely be back soon.

Perfection

We like the CL sites and this one is just perfect. A week was just not long enough. A huge thank you to Sarah and Dave who work so hard to make Darwood House Farm a special place. You certainly succeed. It is a peaceful oasis of calm. Lots of interesting wildlife including owls, hares, hedgehogs and even a muntjac deer. We will certainly be staying here again.

Last minute stay .

The owner managed to fit us in for the weekend due to a cancellation which was lucky for us as we found it very relaxing and enjoyable. You just down the road for Woodhall Spa or Horncastle. We had a pleasant walk through the golf course at Woodhall from which you can even walk along the old railway line to Horncastle. The site is very peace full and we enjoyed watching the wild life. There was a Barn Owl both mornings in the adjacent meadow, pleasing to watch. We were made welcome by the owners and would stay again.

Excellent Site with beautiful country side views

We have just returned from our first visit to Darwood House Farm, having stayed there for a week and what a wonderful, peaceful site it is. When we arrived on the Friday it was raining quite heavily but this did not prevent us getting a warm welcome from our host, who still went out of his way to show us to our pitch and relay all the necessary information to us regarding site facilities, nearby facilities and interesting local walks etc. Just as a point of note the site is an immaculately kept grass sight, but it is also extremely well draining and coped easily with the heavy rainfall we had over our first couple of days stay. The pitches are spacious fairly level with fantastic country side views, the perfect spot to just sit and relax. There is an abundance of wonderful wildlife to watch - hares, pheasants, but best of all there is a resident barn owl which can be seen most morning's and evening's hunting over the adjacent meadow. The village of Woodall Spa is around 21/2 to 3 miles away (5 minute drive) and well worth a visit with a good variety of local shops, bars cafes and ample car parking. If you feel up to it Woodall Spa is also within easy walking distance from the site and the local roads are fairly quite, or you could do as we did and follow our host's suggestion and park at a purpose made lay-by on Sandy Lane and walk along the Viking trail, through the golf course into Woodall Spa which is a lovely wooded walk of about 2 miles. The East coast is within easy reach with Skeggy, Mablethorpe, Chappell St Leonards' and Ingoldmells within 45/ 55 minutes of the site. With Covid-19 restrictions still being in place we were aware that the toilets and showers would be closed and this wasn't a problem for us as we used our onboard facilities. As I said at the begging of this review this was our first visit to the site, but it's certainly not our last and I'm sure if you decide to spend some time here you will not be disappointed.

Second visit

This has to be the most peaceful site we've been to. Tucked away in gorgeous countryside yet just 6 miles from Woodhall Spa, it's the perfect spot to just sit and relax. It's wonderful to watch the wildlife - hares, muntjac, pheasants, a good variety of birds and, best of all a beautiful barn owl can be seen morning and evening hunting over the fields. Our only slight disappointment this time was the fact that the toilet and shower weren't open. Understandable at the moment with covid still doing the rounds, and it wasn't a problem for us as we used our onboard facilities but we received an email before leaving home saying the shower was closed but nothing about the toilet which we just presumed would be open. Anyway, if you are reading this intending to visit it's perhaps a good idea to confirm with the owners if their facilities are open. It certainly didn't detract from a lovely stay and hopefully we'll be back again soon.

Always a fantastic stay

We've been coming to this site every summer for several years. The hosts are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The site is always immaculate. And always tranquil. The sights and sounds of local wildlife are wonderful to enjoy. The views are beautiful. What sunsets we've enjoyed. There is loads of space. Just exactly what we look for in a CL.

Well run site

A very well-run site, run with military precision, we were shown exactly where to pitch the caravan, including which way to face, so no decisions for us to make! Due to Covid restrictions, the shower and toilet were not available - not a problem as we usually prefer to use our own facilities anyway. We did think the price was a bit high @ £18 though. A word regarding dogs - 1 or 2 are welcome, but 2 is the maximum (not mentioned when booking).

Excellent relaxing Trip

we have just spent 4 nights at Darwood House Farm. On arrival we were shown to our immaculate pitch, complete with EHU. The owners were excellent with their information on local attractions and the local dog walks, which was excellent as we had our 2 dogs with us. The site is kept immaculate, and is very peaceful and quiet. We would highly recommend this CL site, and shall definitely be visiting again.

lovely site

We have just enjoyed a few days at this peaceful, clean site. The caravans and motorhomes are will spaced out and the pitch is mainly level. We were given a warm welcome and lots of information about the farm and area. Due to the covid restrictions the toilet and shower room was shut but we are used to using our own facilities, so this was no problem. We did a lot of walking within the area, and was suprised how pretty the Lincolnshire Wolds are. Due to being high risk, we didn't visit any towns or villages, but did drive through them and will go back when life returns to normal. Gibralter Point was very interesting as was the small zoo near Skegness. A nice site, my only downside, was lack of hand gel near the taps and bins, but a small thing really. Would recommend this site if you are looking for peace and quiet.
