Quiet site, overpriced

As other reviewers have said this is a good location for visiting nearby towns as there is a good bus service within walking distance. The farm shop is handy too. However, at £28 a night off season it is overpriced as there are no toilet facilities and grass had not been mown in the field. In wet weather larger units would struggle to manoeuvre on the field. There is also a busy road near and some road noise.

Great Location, nice friendly CL

Nice CL, 10 to 15 walk into Sandwich and good links for either cycling or public transport to Deal, Walmer, Dover & Canterbury. Flat grass pitches with EHU , fresh water and black disposal. No WC or showers but ok as have these on board . Really good farm shop and owners really friendly and helpful. Will definately be back as we only had a couple of days and plenty more we want to see in the area

Great CL

Stayed for 7 days here. Very easy to find, good access and very level tidy field. The EHUs were well spaced out and the farmshop was very handy. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Bus stop outside which we used to get into Sandwich on a couple of evenings. Sandwich is well served by many pubs, food outlets, cafes, a chip shop and a few shops, including a co-op. We visited the Tenterden Railway, a lovely trip finishing at a National Trust property, in walking distance of the station. So, a quick visit and back on the steam train. Close enough to visit Dover, also the coast around Ramsgate/Margate, up to Whitstable. You could not run out of things to do and so relaxing when back at site. All in all a lovely holiday.

Great site, spacious field

This is a great little site, easy access, just far away enough from main road so traffic noise in minimal. In a really spacious field with great views to field with horses. Electric hook up and level too. Has shop on site, and walkable into lovely Sandwich along the Rope Walk by the stream. The Red Cow pub welcomes dogs and does a really nice platter for lunch. Good walks nearby, pathway by stream can get overgrown at the rear of the site, access is via village a few minutes walk.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay

Just got back from 4 nights at Delf Nursery, where we were accompanied by our friends, so managed to pitch both Motorhomes next to each other. Delf Nursery is set back from the road leading into Sandwich, and we all commented on how quiet and peaceful it was. The field is extremely large, so no problem pitching, and the CWD point and water points are modern and convenient. There is a bus stop within 5 minutes walk, Sandwich train station is 10 minutes walk and the quaint town centre 15 minutes away. Plenty of good pubs, a great Sausage Shop by the Guildhall. Ossie's Fish and Chip shop in the centre served some lovely grub for lunch one day Some lovely walks to the ruined Roman Richborough Fort, around the old Town Walls and across Royal St.Georges Golf Course (The Open should have been happening this week!). Lovely pub 15-20 minutes walk along the site boundary, the St. Crispin's Inn, at Worth, with good beer, and a huge beer garden. We also got the train into Deal (journey takes 7 minutes and costs about £2.75 single) and then walked to a superb pub in the beach at Kingsdown called the Zetland Arms. Including walking all the way back to the site that day we did 14 miles! The Farm shop has all you need (apart from no 6kg Calor bottles!), so you don't really need to shop before arriving. We really enjoyed our stay, and, as it is only 90 minutes from our home in Essex, we will be back. There's plenty to do and see if you want, or it's a lovely site to just chill out.

A good CL

Stayed for a couple of nights and found the site easy to get to and very neat and clean with a good welcome. The field is level with the grass kept short, electric posts are well spaced and there is plenty of room for the 5 units. Easy walk into Sandwich which is interesting with old buildings and boats on the river, walk in the opposite direction across the fields to the pub and village of Worth. There is a good flat cycle ride from Sandwich to Deal along a quiet private road with little traffic. Would definitely revisit.

One of the best!

Really cannot recommend this CL enough! It is really well situated on the edge of Sandwich with loads to do within a relatively small distance including Sandwich itself (a lovely medieval town), Broadstairs, Botany Bay, Whitstable, Margate, Dover, Canterbury and many more.... This site is on a good sized field overlooking farmland with well distributed hook ups for flexible siting. The owners and family are all really friendly and chatty and all helps to make for a very relaxed and informal holiday. The farm shop on site is first class allowing for a self contained stay without the need for visiting the supermarket! The produce is local where possible as is the veg, with a lot of it grown themselves at Delf - the Kent climate makes it out of this world... Speaking of which trying the home-made cakes is essential - they are all to die for! I would highly recommend this site if in the area, whether on the way to the channel ports or staying for a while - will definitely be back. By the way there is also a "Shepherd's Hut" to rent if anybody wants to join you who doesn't have a van... It looks great fun!

Great for cycling

We stayed here, in our motorhome, for a few days at the end of September - the intention being to use our bikes as much as possible. We were given a warm welcome by the parents of the owner - who were both manning the tills in the shop. They were both very friendly and good salespersons too. The highly recommended lemon drizzle cake went down a treat. Not long after our arrival the heavens opened - but this did not deter my husband from putting up the drive away awning. Unfortunately the rain continued to the next day - so we decided to drive to Dover Castle - which fortunately has parking for motorhomes. The remaining days we cycled to Ramsgate, nearby English Heritage sites in Deal and beyond, and into Sandwich itself - with cycle routes easy to follow. Despite the rain, and taking our own precautions, we were able to drive on and off the site without any problem. Although it is classed as suitable for motorhomes, I don't know how we would have fared had we had more rain during the few days we were there. The entrance/exit to the field was getting slightly muddy towards the end of our stay. This is a great little site and is an idea location, if like us, you like to get out and about on bicycles.

Summer break

My wife and I arrived at the site and was made very welcome by Alison. Their shop is well stocked with fresh vegetables, meat and cakes. We have a motorhome, a bonus for us was the transport links to the Kent coast via a train the station was only 10 mins away from the site. The site it self is great a little road noise but we got used to that. Sandwich village is really nice and such friendly people. I tried the homemade cakes that Alison made which were very nice,my wife has a gluten intolerance and we were talking to Alison about it. Alison does not usually bake gluten or dairy free cakes but she decided to make my wife a gluten free cake. We went out for the day and on our return presented us with with a very warm cake needless to say with a cup of tea the cake went down very well, cant thank her enough for for the 2 cakes she baked. We will at some point return for a break at Simon and Alisons site.
