Hidden Gem

We had to get a place to stay because the Chester site was closed for renovations. Digby Farm was a great discovery. It was a bit difficult to find, probably due to road works but nevertheless found it first time. Beautifully kept and quiet. We didn't hear the traffic at all. The owner is constantly improving the place. The 'toilet block' is clean and convenient, with local information. TV reception was great. No complaints about the distance to walk for water and emptying. I have walked further on a site many a time. We had to share our electricity post with another caravan so was worried about tripping it, but managed to escape. The other posts seemed to be single ones.

Convenient for Chester.

This Cl has 7 well spaced out, flat, H/S pitches, with a shower (20p for 4 mins) and toilet. Drinking water and CDP are both a short walk from the pitches. The site is easily accessed, being about 2mls off the A55 Chester/Conway road. There is a Tesco Extra and a retail park less than a mile from the site, and towards Chester, 4mls away, there are also a Morrisons and a small Asda. There is a footpath that runs by the site and across fields & makes a suitable dog walk. The one drawback, as far as we were concerned, was the droning noise at night from the roads and the Aerobus Factory opposite the site, which could be a problem for light sleepers. However we would definitely use the site again should we visit the area in the future.

Delightful site

Stayed March 2015 for a week. Really well run site with lovely shower and toilet block. The welcome was good and the pitches and facilities you could not fault. Would definitely return.

Lovely little place

Years after moving away from Chester my OH  & I (from Kent) went up to see old friends. We picked this site because of the closeness to those friends but could not have made a better selection. Lovely clean sanitary block on site (including washing up area). Make sure you have plenty of 20p coins if you want to use the shower; although 20p was enough for a good 4 minutes. All hard standing pitches and lovely views. (Dogs had delightful time grumbling at the sheep all week). Sheep are spookily friendly and come up to you. Fresh water and loo waste was a bit of a walk away from our pitch so if you have difficulties, ask for a pitch nearer to them. There is a large retail park within walking distance (about 15-20 minutes) which was great for a HUGE Tesco and a range of restaurants if you dont want to cook. Parking in Chester itself is expensive but there is a park and ride on the Wrexam road; you will have to go back onto the dual carriage way and take the first exit. In all a lovely little site which I will certainly visit again if I am up that way. The site has even inspired one of my friends, who stores their Caravan there, to give CLs a go.

Peaceful break on Digby Farm

We had a very enjoyable four night stay at this lovely CL in April, 2014. The owner, Mr Mitchell was very friendly and helpful. The site was extremely level! All pitches were hard standing, well spaced out with well maintained grounds. Pitches are more than able too accommodate large outfits including twin axle. The relatively new shower block is a credit to the owner! The CL is very quiet and overlooks fields whilst convenient for both Chester, North Wales and retail therapy including a supermarket within one mile of the site. We will definitely use this CL again in the future!

Very nice site in a good location

A very neat and well kept site with new toilet and shower facilities. The site is quite picturesque and traffic noise from the nearby A55 is not an issue. The bus stop with frequent services to Chester is just 1/4 of a mile away, making it very handy for a visit to this popular city. There is also a large retail park about 1/2 a mile away (if you want that kind of thing). As the weather forecast was poor, the city centre was great for us, but the site would be a pleasant place to spend some time in finer weather.

As an update from the previous reviews, the footpaths around the site are very good, some obviously freshly laid.

Ideal For Chester

Stayed at this site for three nights. Barry met us the day after arrival and was friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat. Plenty of info sheets around to highlight what to do not to do! Entry to the site can be missed easily and would benefit from a club site sign although the chapel is a landmark you should not miss .......we did lol Toilet block brand new and although unisex and only the one shower catered for all our needs, to get 5 points the heating could have gone on due to the time of year but shower good and facilities kept clean and well presented with info sheets for local activities, 20 pence required for the shower. The footpaths are located right next to the site and youcan give your dogs a good walk although due to livestock no chance of them being allowed off for a run, conditions were wet (obviously this time of the year) but wellies required as the water table is very near the surface and very wet. The hard standing provided is accommodating and plenty of space giving nice views over the adjacent fields you will need a long cable on some of the pitches for the electric Perfectly located to visit Chester and has a great shopping complex close by with allsorts to appease all tastes, equally excellent cycle routes to enjoy along the Dee or into Chester. Barry appears to do a real good job and keeps the site well presented good efforts and would visit again if visiting the area. The site provided a very peaceful break although close to the airport plane traffic, this did not hinder a peaceful stay.

Lovely site.

This was the second time we have been to this CL .Since our last visit the new toilet and shower block has been added which is beautiful. As we were in a motorhome we chose to catch the bus (which was a 5 min walk away ) to Chester £3.80 each return. We then the next day drove to Cheshire Oaks where there was plenty of parking for the motorhome and too many shops for any man!! The CL was fairly quiet and we had a lovely pitch with stunning views across the fields. The only thing that stopped me giving the site 5* was the distance to the fresh water and the chemical waste facilities (and the fact you needed wellies to use the chemical waste facility due to the muddy lane) Could the fresh water tap not be brought closer to the CL (just a thought)

Nice site good facilitys

This was our 1st time at this cl and found it very relaxing. When we arrived we were met by the owner barry who we found to be very helpful and made us very welcome. We only booked 4nights but after visiting chester we asked if we could book another night and barry told us no problem. The site has hard standing and has a new toilet and shower block which was always clean. If we do return to chester area we would return to digby farm.
