Dolgadfan Down Time

Are joined at the hip to your modern technology? If you can’t be separated from it, except by surgical procedure, then Dolgadfan is not a place I would, in all honesty, recommend! However, should you feel the need to unwind, slow down a bit, step off the rat race treadmill for a while, and become part of the Human Race again, may I suggest you don’t waste a minute longer, and take a trip to this place of outstanding natural beauty. Okay, so sometimes mobile phone signals are a bit ‘iffy’, and the television reception suffers the same fate but, take the time to breath fresh air, watch and listen to the birds, take one of several walks in the area, directly from the site, do whatever you want to, when you want to, without being dictated to by schedules, timetables and other technological demands. My wife and I have just returned from a seven night, peaceful, break at Dolgadfan where Buzzards, Swift and Pied Wagtails were observed from the caravan and Owls heard hooting at night. The on site ‘exclusive use’ toilet and shower facilities put some Club sites to shame and are among the best we’ve seen. In Llanbrynmair there’s an excellent Cafe and a couple of Pubs which serve superb food along with a shop, where most basics can be purchased. Give Dolgadfan a try; speak to Mrs Anwyl, or her son Brychan, and get yourself down to this green and pleasant land; what have you got to lose? You may regain some of your humanity and a renewed outlook on what’s important, and what can wait.
