We love this site for the location and ease of access to bus route and also local facilities.
Check in was easy and individual water and grey waste facilities on each pitch are a welcome feature.
The only downside for us was some of the hardstandings were quite badly overgrown as was the gravel access to the pitches, particularly the ones towards the bottom of the field.
A little TLC would make a big difference.
Great CL
We found this one of the easiest CLs to find and access, so somewhat confused by problems encountered by others. We also managed on leaving to turn left across dual carriageway and vent reservation in our 7.5 m mohome, admittedly not easiest but doable if time right and bit of patience.
Very well organised and maintained site. Plenty of space. It seemed the grass pitches had a slightly better view of hills in distance over the main road. We were on hardstanding due to inclement weather so not such far reaching view but very pleasant large paddock that you can watch folk go to secure dog walking field. A real treat for your dog if staying on site that you can book and pay to use it, and it on your doorstep!
Due to main road, we wouldn’t choose it for a chilled stay, although it’s not dreadful. Its USP is its location, fantastic to walk along disused lane into Sedgefield town where good bus services to lots of interesting places, lots of lovely eateries. We also walked to racecourse and Hardwick Park.
Mature Couple
Stayed for 2 nights on our way home from Scotland. Very easy to access from the A1. Some noise from the road but that did not bother us. Water at pitch. Walked to town and caught bus to Durham, very good day. Helpful and friendly owner. Only drawback was the need to turn left out of the site and turn round at the next roundabout to go back to the A1, but only a few miles out of the way so no real problem. We will use again when we are that way.
Short stroll to local ameneties
2 night stay in Nov 2022.
Good access to site.
Water, EHU and satellite dish feed at each pitch. Good TV and mobile signals. Pitches mostly level.
12 min walk along quiet lane to Sedgefield centre with lots of options to eat out and local stores.
Great CL
We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a very good welcome and was given very good information about the village and buses. There was a bit of road noise.

Fully Serviced Pitches
This is a great CL. There are Hardstanding with electricity, water and drainage. There is also a grass rally field also with ehu. Sedgefield is a short and easy walk away with great pubs and cafes. You must go to George Bolams shop. Loads of meat, fish, cheese, veg and bakery.
If you go on Donnewell farm’s website, the instruction to ignore the postcode and use Google maps is very clear; as are the written directions to the site. We found it with no problem. The pricing is also very clear on the website; it is the CAMC page that is out of date.
There is quite a bit of road noise from the dual carriageway, particularly in the morning. It would not stop us coming back, but it might bother others.

Good quality CL.
It's unclear to me why others struggled to find this CL, it's as easy as pie to find, and just as easy to get into. We have an 8m motorhome with tow car. Postcode is correct, directs are clear, just look for it on google maps and see.
We always use CLs rather than the larger, busier, more expensive club sites, because we prefer it quieter. Many CLs only have one grey water disposal point and one fresh water stand pipe. It's always a little bonus when we find one with a serviced pitch, as with here. Likewise, this CL has level pitches, all 5 of which are hardstanding.
We cannot fault the site, and would stay here again no doubt at all. My only negative comment, please amend your advertised price. We don't mind paying £22 per night knowing that the facilities are good, but why leave the price advertised on here as £12? All it does is causes those who like to moan, to moan.
If you are looking for a cheap overnight stay this is probably not for you
We booked this site for a one night stopover on our way home which was fine, however, the post code doesn't work and the owners directions were not very clear. I phoned to ask for the correct postcode and was assured that I had the correct postcode, but we still couldn't find it and I phoned again and was given the post code for another farm close by which was on the other side of a dual carriageway. After as 350 mile drive you just don't need the hassle. I spoke to the owner and he informed me that the postcode had been changed a couple of years ago. The description on the website gives a guide price as from £12 but we were charged £22. I knew it was more expensive from one of the earlier reviews where the person was charged £18 and I was fine with that, but I feel that £22 is just too much for what they offer. We were on a Club site in the Cotswolds with full facilities where the midweek price was £20 and another private site in the New Forest again with full facilities and that was also £20 All the pitches on this site have an electric meter which I don't think is in use as we were not charged any extra for the 3Kw electric that we had used. Sorry but I wouldn't stay here again.
Great place
Stayed here from Sat 25th September to Sat 2nd October and had a lovely, relaxing time. Really handy for visiting other places (mum lives in Redcar, 20 mins drive away) and many other places. Can hear traffic on the road a bit, but soon get used to it. Will definately be back.
Fab site
