We have just got home having spent the last 6 nights at Dukeries Retreat with our 3 dogs. The owners, Mick and Lyndis, go above and beyond the call of duty. They were absolute lifesavers when we had a fault with our heating system, lending us a heater, and use of their utility room for washing up, until we could get our fault sorted. Without this, our holiday would’ve been ruined. The site itself is picture perfect. Beautiful views of the local hills and forests, and incredibly peaceful. If you love the sound of birds in song, then this is the site for you. Some of the facilities have been upgraded since we last visited. There’s a new Elsan disposal point at the edge of the CL, and some new EHU points. If you’re ever heading to the South Yorkshire/East Midlands area, or just after a few days peace and tranquility then we would definitely recommend Dukeries Retreat.
