A hidden gem

Wanting to take our newly-repaired caravan for a local check-out stay before venturing further afield, we came across Ron's site in Marsh Baldon, and were utterly charmed. It's well-kept grass, delightfully flat, and set in some of Oxfordshire's most beautiful and quiet countryside. If you are walkers like us, you will enjoy the Shakespeare's Way footpath down to Chiselhampton, with its pub and very scenic old bridge. If you are looking to explore Oxford, it's only a short drive away. Marsh Baldon itself is full of ancient buildings, and a leisurely sight-seeing stroll around the very sizeable village green is worth finishing at the Seven Stars, where the food and service we found to be excellent. For those following satnavs to get to the site, it’s worth reinforcing the official site directions – turn left as you enter the village and follow the road around the green, rather than carry straight on past the Seven Stars onto the narrow, unmade road with sharp bends. Save that road for your walk to the pub later!
