Stayed here to visit Harrogate

We stayed here for one night. It had been raining for many days and the grassed CL area was inaccessible. However it looked really pleasant with good views and the farmer, who gave us a very warm welcome, allowed us to pick a hard standing area on the farm and he quickly set up a hook up. He was also happy for our children to visit the lambs. We picked this site as it is close to Harrogate but it was not as easy to get into the town as we expected as there is no longer a nearby bus stop and the walk is partly along a main road (which can be heard from the site) without a path. We therefore used a taxi which cost approx £9 each way which was quick and easy.

Convenient stopover location

Stayed here twice in September on our journey to and from the Lake District. Easy to find off main road. Lond narrow farm lane to site with low wall leither side. Site on right through gate. Hardstanding at entrance. Unfortunately the grass tured out to be very boggy when we tried to park next to another outfit and although we followed tyre tracks got stuck after a couple of yards. Farmer kindly towed usback to the hardstanding. Pitch 6 not level but managed without chocks. Water and chemical waste disposal available on field. No toilets or showers. Expensive for what was on offer but a very convenient site.

Lovely little site near Harrogate

This is a lovely little CL. Beautify mowed grassed area kept lovely by the owners little son on his ride on lawn mower. On a slight slope but this wasn't an issue. Very close to Harrogate its self which was lovely and Ripley castle was just down the road where we went to an agriculture show. There is a pup called The Nelson which is a 5 minute walk away that does nice pub food.We had lovely weather so sat outside our van and took in the lovely scenery. Some traffic noise from the main road but that did not spoil our trip there. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for Harrogate

A very tidy nicely mown site. It is sloping, we used the far field which was more level. Very nice owners and great fresh eggs.  Pub was an easy walk, the road is busy but there's room to walk. Bus close by too. We did walk to Harrogate and took just over an hour. As others have said, not a major walking area but ideal for Harrogate which is why we came.

Nice CL

My wife my dog and I spent three nights here over bank holiday. Access is good pitches are on a beautifully manicured lawn however slightly sloping so chocks WILL be required (owner kindly provides bricks etc to aid levelling) our 20m HU lead only just reached the socket (so check before you put steadies down) some traffic noise from busy at times A59 but it wasn't enough to spoil an otherwise peaceful site. Not much work going on in the farm during our stay so cannot comment on that. Lots to visit in the area but as has been said by others footpaths are lacking so dog walking is restricted, I suggest a five min drive to Ripley castle for good dog walking and off lead exercise. All in all a good CL however imo slightly overpriced at £14 per night but it is in an ideal spot to visit various places.

A nice spot near Harrogate

The CL is located very close to Harrogate, which is what we required, My wife needed to be dropped off and picked up at the International centre twice a day. The site is located within a working farm and the owners and their children were charming and very helpful. The owner allowed me to walk my dog in a couple of adjoining fields. It was not possible to take the dog on a long walk from the farm as it was not part of local walking network. This had to be done by going off in the campervan. Just a little downside. There was a pub within half a mile but again it was safest to travel there by campervan. Cost per night was £14, this is not a lot of money, however there are still many CL sites offering toilets and shower facilities for £10 per night. Overall if you need to be located near Harrogate, then this is the site for you.

Good for Good Food Show Harrogate

Warm and friendly Yorkshire family welcome from this site which is ideal for Harrogate shows. Leave the motorhome on site and get a bus or taxi = no hastle. Fair bit of traffic noise from the A59 and remember this IS a working farm so they work with tractors from early morning. Room for a couple of motorhomes but grass too steep so you have to park up close to the main entry - and you will need your blocks. Two pubs close (the Nelson is near enough to walk) and both reasonable. Ideal location for getting into Harrogate, the show ground and RHS Harlow Carr

Long weekend

We spent a long weekend here with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed it, the grass was well manicured but the ground was sloping and blocks were needed, we had a dog show at Wetherby which was within easy reach as was many places, a perfect place to stay and we will be back.

Calm, Convenient and Pleasant.Surroundings

A very pleasant, attractive sloping grass site. The site is immaculately maintained and overlooks the small farm with distant views. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. During the daytime subdued noise can be heard from traffic on the A59 but late evening and night time is virtually silent. Extremely convenient for Harrogate and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
