Disappointing

We arrived along a narrow road and turned into the entrance. There was a sign beside the house inviting us to drive through and they would see us later. We drove onto the site. There appeared to be only 1 place to pitch with electric hook up (3 other vans were already there). We began pitching and a man came into the orchard to mow the grass. My husband waved to him and got no response. We spent an evening there. The traffic noise was just about acceptable and eventually died down about 9pm. When we left in the morning (around 11am on a Friday) we had still not seen anyone and had to leave the money for the night in an envelope. I had to send my husband into the road to check it was clear before leaving the site. I'm afraid we wouldn't visit again. It was a pretty site and fairly well laid out but the lack of a welcome and the traffic noise has put us off.

A Real Gem

This site is a real gem, a credit to its owners who are friendly but leave you to enjoy your stay once they have greeted you with the site details and a booklet about nearby amenities. All bins are clearly marked for recycling so no guessing necessary. The field is broken up by trees and is sheltered but sunny. Certainly a site we would recommend. There is a little road noise but we didn't find it too intrusive and there are plenty of walks for the dogs. The village of Lympsham only a short walk away is well worth a visit, beautiful architecture, peaceful, and with a small shop/ Post Office, it's just a shame it doesn't have a pub or it would be perfect!

Just the Job

Ideally situated site for exploring area around Burnham, Weston, Cheddar etc. Easy access off main road, which did get a bit noisy at times - but not enough to put us off returning. Site is level and facilities are basic but acceptable. We didn't see the site owner all week, so had to leave payment with our friends who stayed on. We would recommend this site. Beware of Satnav trying to turn you right, up dirt track, into Southerly end of Purving Row!

A Wee Gem

Stayed here 3 nights, after having caravan at dealers for warranty work.   Phoned Sarah re availability and she always got back to me the day I phoned. I asked if we could stay 3 nights as we wanted to test the van to see if everything was OK. We arrived Thurs and it was a glorious weekend weather wise, not as forecast.   When we arrived Sarah gave us an A4 sheet with all the details of the site and information to make our stay pleasant.  I asked where we could pitch and was told "Anywhere you like as long as you can reach the electric points"   She never asked for the site fee.   We caught her on Saturday and paid her. So relaxing, we will visit again.

Very Nice CL

We stayed four nights on this lovely CL set amongst trees in an orchard.  Very easy access off the Motorway. Public transport within easy walking distance.  Well laid out with good recycling facilities. Some road noise but not troublesome. Definitely plan to visit again.

lovely gem of a site

stayed here a few times now. perfecctly situated to visit burnham weston and north somerset. the site is a working farm and is set amongst a lovely apple orchard ...so picturesque. we have always enjoyed our stays here. there is a toilet on site but no shower but this is not a problem for us as we use our own facilites anyway. site is situated just off the main road in a small lane access is generally east and there was a sign telling us to go and pitch up first and sort paying later. would highly recommend staying here as it is just so relaxing. cant wait for the next visit :)

A little piece of heaven

Lovely CL. Peaceful and restful. Also a really good stop-over, close to the M5 and very easy to find. Very pretty location, good facilities and friendly hosts. We only stayed one night as we were travelling on, but we want to go back and stay longer.

Smashin CL

The cl is an orchard on a farm.  It is easy to find and very convenient for local towns and the M5 (although not so close that you hear it).  The owners were very friendly and welcoming even though they were busy lambing and with calfs being born.  The facilities are good for a cl site and water / bins / etc were plentiful.  There was some noise from the nearby road but not really anything to be concerned about.  Furthermore I suspect that by the time that the trees are in full leaf the noise will be reduced further.  Being on a farm meant that there were plenty of animals around which was fab for us to be able to look out of the caravan at the animals in the next field. I would happily stay here again and I really think that later in the summer it would be really lovely (we stayed at Easter when the ground was still a bit wet and the trees were still in winter mode).

Very loud traffic

We have just returned from this cl. Perhaps we were unlucky but the traffic noise was horrendous and was constant from very early in the morning to very late at night, this is advertised as 'a quiet site' sorry but it is not. The facilities on site were good. The site is in an orchard and some of the branches are quite low so pick your route carefully. We didn't meet the lady owner but we did see a man we assumed was the male owner. When I spoke to him on two occasions all he managed was a couple of grunts but was quick enough to open his hand to take the money. The location is good for local attractions and has easy access from the motorway. The cl is surrounded by tall hedges so there are no views out. All in all a pleasant site, shame about the traffic and the attitude of the owner.
