An enjoyable fortnight

A friendly welcome from Mrs Redman, I grew up near here so a lovely chat about days gone by. The CL is maybe one-third hard-standing, two thirds grass, with the grass fenced off due to it being winter. I did therefore feel that allowing 4 vans onto the hard-standing made things a little cramped. Three vans would have been more comfortable, as we were a little too close for our liking. I did actually need to speak to one couple about keeping the noise down, something I have never had to do in 20+ years in the club. I felt uncomfortable about doing this, and told Mrs Redman so. Having said that, the site was pleasant, no views as such but interesting countryside in the lanes round about. The lane past the site is a bit of a rat-run, but nothing especially bothersome. One toilet was open during our stay, not sure why the shower was closed as social distancing regulations have been scrapped now, perhaps there was another reason. The mobile phone and internet signal was not great, it kept coming and going, maybe being under the airport flight-path had something to do with that. There is a rail line nearby which is useful for travelling to Bristol, Worle has a station but you pay to park. Yatton is slightly further but possible to park up a side street near the station for free. We were unfortunate enough to suffer three named storms during our visit, and did need to delay our departure for a day as it was too risky to tow a van in that. Mrs Redman was happy to let us stay an extra day. I would be happy to return when the grass is open, but due to overcrowding would not visit again during the off season.

A Perfect Winter Campsite

We stayed 4 nights here in our VW Campervan, in mid-December. Sandra is lovely and gave us a warm greeting on our arrival, and a kind farewell on our last morning. The site was perfect for us since it has hard-surfaced access to a tarmac area where the pitches are located. Having brought our motorcycle on a trailer, we were able to explore North Somerset on it without crossing a field or driving on a muddy track to reach the road. Our Campervan is fully equipped and we need only the most basic facilities, so always go for a CL site when available. This was certainly one of the nicest we have found in our many years of camping, and we look forward to returning to it at a later date.

A lovely stay

We chose Ebdon Bow for its location, close to friends who live in Weston. Access is along a bit of a twisty road but straight forward to get there. Little bit of noise from the road and from aircraft but not excessive We received a friendly greeting from the owner. The site is half grass and half tarmac, all of it fairly level. At the time of our visit, the toilet and shower were closed due to COVID, but there was fresh water, electricity and waste disposal. We cycled to Sand Bay Beach which didn’t take long and it wouldn’t be far to Weston super Mud town. Would definitely use again

Six Nights

We have just returned from 6 nights on this charming little cl in our two berth motor home, a choice of hard or grass standing and facilities all brilliantly set out. We were greeted warmly with lots of info and also a goodbye and thank you which was lovely. We will return, loved the area and the easy access to the roads out to see other places. Plenty of walks and cycle routes and dog walking, we never had our little dog with us this time but would feel happy bringing her next time. It was a peaceful stay and we were able to visit Wells, the beach at Weston, shop and have a delicious, reasonably priced Chinese takeaway meal locally without any hassle.

Beat this if you can!

Just got home to Kent after a lovely eleven nights at Ebdon Bow (and days). Warm welcome after an easy access. The last 500yds to the site can be tricky round a few bends. Hard standing or grass. Grass well kept, shower and toilets clean, hedge rows trimmed to give good views. Plenty to do and see. Bus stop not far away to Weston then bus to Bristol or Wells etc. We will be back! Thankyou, Sandra

Thank you for another good stay at ebdon bowThis was

This was our 3rd visit in 3 years. Access is good from the M5 and David and Sandra are welcoming and helpful. There can be a little noise from aircraft and local traffic but within a short time you dont notice it, there will always be a noise of some sort anywhere, late in the year the hardstandings are great especially if you have bad weather and there is plenty of room for cars and caravans, also some shelter from any wind, the water facilities are close by and the toilet has a heat and light unit installed. We have met the same people there each year so we cant be wrong in returning so we have booked again for next year. There are plenty of places to visit in the area at only a short distance to travel. So to sum up thanks to the Redmans and we will be back.

Tidy site

Stayed for 10 days. David gave a warm welcome, handed out a tourist brochure and the local pub menu. CL kept neat and tidy whilst probably being in the competitively priced bracket. Aircraft noise annoying between about 6am and 11pm. Also, the road noise from the very busy little road that runs alongside the CL. The tractors were certainly very noisy but presumably that activity is seasonal. Site handy for junction 21 of the M5 and no access difficulties. Good for a short stay.

A nice place for short stay

We arrived to a very friendly welcome from David. The pitches are very well kept and a dog walking area (albeit a small one) is next to the site. A really nice pub with great beer, and delicious reasonably   priced food is a very short stroll away. The facilities are scrupulously clean which was great.  The only complaint we had which is fairly minor is that the site is on the flightpath for Bristol airport which means that aircraft noise can be a bit annoying especially if you are a light sleeper from 0630hrs.

Lovely owners & good location

A small garden square beside the owners' home. There are 5 hardstanding pitches which are close together, or if the weather permits, caravans can be spread out more on the grass which was neatly cut. The couple who own the CL were so friendly and helpful. In high winds and heavy rain, we were invited to use their barn to dry out our weather-beaten awning. A party was thrown for the caravanners in the barn as it was the Queen's Golden Jubilee weekend. The hand towel in the toilet was changed daily. I wouldn't like to use the toilet and shower in cold weather though as they are unheated.
