Nice CL

We stayed here for a week in April the driveway up to the CL had been widened which was good , the lovely wooded area where you could sit and have a coffee has now gone and a caravan is in there overlooking the CL , all grass pitches are quite flat and we had a down pour one night but the ground was fine in the morning , there is a toilet also used as a imformation room as well , the cold water tap is outside the toilet , there is plenty of road walking roads are very quiet , the two walks we normally do to let the dog off for a run had been ploughed up but if you walk about half a mile to the fishing lake there are a couple of good walks there . In the village is a pub , cafe and shop . Thetford is not far away or Norwich , there is a wood at East Harling and one near Watton if you want to take the dog for a good run . Wyndham Abbey is not far away where you can have a cup of coffee and a garden centre which does good meals and plenty of pubs and cafe's about

Quiet site with good facilities

We really enjoyed our short visit to this site. Booking in was easy and relaxed. We were informed to find a pitch and set up. Sally made sure we were welcomed and was keen to share with us all that the local area had to offer. A wonderful quiet site, with just the odd sound of the countryside to break the silence. We will be happy to stay at this lovely site again and hope it won't be too long before we return

A lovely site/

WE booked in for the weekend, but on arrival and legs down I discovered the caravan battery was fully discharged. Help from Ivan, Sally's husband with a small charger brought the battery fully charged but further exam indicated that the caravans battery charger proved to be defective. Ivan's help over about two hours while he went through a though check of the 12 volt system was above and beyond what I expected from a CL owner. It was greatly appreciated and couldn't thank him enough for his help. Ivan loaned me the hand charger over the weekend so we had mains and 12 volt connection. Being the chap he was I was unable to reward him for his help. After the original upset we settled down to enjoy the weekend at this great CL. Peace and quiet are top of the lost, total rest it was great and my wife and I enjoyed the weekend at Elm Croft very much. Once again thank you so much Sally and Ivan.

A First Class Cl

A warm welcome from Sally the owner , this site is immaculate gets better every time we visit , there is a toilet , the site is grass and pitches are quite big , lovely shrubs around the boarders kept very tidy there is a little garden with table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine , fresh eggs to buy from the owners hens and a little herb garden if you want any , if you are into walking or cycling very quiet roads and lanes , there is a pub and shop within walking distance and a supermarket in Attleborough which is not far away and Norwich and Thetford just a few miles . This is a gem of a site you will not be disappointed , we will be back

Above and beyond.

What a lovely site. Beautifully presented with flowers, a small dedicated seating area and plenty of personal touches such as a help yourself herb trough and good value "White shell" fresh eggs plus plant sales. The site and facilities were kept spotlessly clean with Sally and Ivan always on hand and so helpful. Site is level and grass kept cut with plenty of space between pitches, quiet ( although a pig farm close by some might find offputting). This site was the nicest we have experienced this year (our first caravaning) but more then anything else was the help and willingness offered by Sally and Ivan. Hitching up to leave at the end of our week our car went "bang"! Fanbelt broken! Ivan immediately ordered a replacement and then set about fitting the replacement and all just three weeks after major knee surgery. Thank you to Sally and Ivan...you are the best.

"It doesn't get much better"

Don’t hesitate, this is a secret gem I’m keeping to myself. Easy to follow M&C signs as you get near. Warm discrete welcome. Truly lovingly maintained flower, scrub & tree bordered well mown site in the countryside. Very clean toilet & information hut with all the surrounding info you need. Lovely separate garden decking area. Everything you need including fresh eggs & herbs. A pleasant 15min walk to the Rockland Community shop & cafe (8-4) & pub (pm opening). Plenty of local walking & fishing lake nearby. A good base for local sites.

Well maintained campsite

Beautiful little site surrounded by hedging and well maintained flower beds. Lovely seating area with help yourself herbs and spotless toilet shed with details of lots of walks and pubs and the eggs from Sally’s chickens were yummy. Local pub only open for food Friday/Saturday but we had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Red Lion in Caston ( ask them about the secret passage from the church to the stone cross). Lots of peaceful roads to cycle on and we even made it to Thetford forest and the Pingo Trail from the campsite (there is a kissing gate either end of the trail so you do need to lift your bikes over and it is a bit disconcerting cycling along by the military firing range! Really enjoyed NT Oxburgh not so much the Water Gardens nearby. The only negatives to the site were the squealing pigs in the nearby farm which was a bit off-putting, but you are in the country and as nobody else has mentioned them maybe we were unlucky with the direction of the wind!
