What more could you want?

This is a lovely, well-kept site which is surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is plenty of space to pitch-up for a relaxing stay spent watching the resident sheep and wildlife go about their day. We enjoyed a short, evening stroll over the fields into Fearby and a drink at the Black Swan then a longer (30mins) walk into Masham the next day. We have never been to Masham before and it was a nice surprise. Lots of little independent shops to look around, a good fish and chip shop and the Saturday market was on which added extra interest. A perfect place for a quiet, simple, close-to-nature stay, with plenty to interest nearby- what more could you want?

A Field with a View

This is a beautiful spot. We enjoyed watching the rabbit family from our motorhome. Beautiful countryside for walking and cycling ( cycling is a bit more challenging with the hills but who doesn't love the occasional challenge?!). The site itself is well - maintained and the area is lovely.

Lovely peaceful site with beautiful views

A quiet field with views all round, good dog walks, near the charming market town of Masham.

Back to basics is refreshing…

Our second visit, and it’s a gem. A week with no mains electric is no problem if you’ve got a solar panel on the roof. roof, even watch a bit of telly. Some great walks from the site, especially the Druids Temple! And Masham is charming, and the Black Sheep Brewery well worth a visit. The village pub is going through a rough patch, and hope they get their act back together! Lots to do in the area, and you don’t notice the back to basics…

Still our favourite place!

Stayed for 3 nights, blessed by beautiful weather. Last reviewed in 2015 and feel exactly the same. Friendly owner. Beautiful location, nearby village is perfect, stunning walks which ever way you turn out of the gate. Our perfect site! Masham is an easy 1.5 mile walk away, with chip shop, pubs and local market. Choice of 2 brewery trips, Theakstons and Black Sheep. Love this area, wish I could win the lottery, would live here in a heartbeat! Highly recommended.

Ruined by anti-social party.

We stayed for three nights. The first night was lovely and peaceful. Then a large of party of two caravans and tent set up their base next to us marked out by windbreaks and surrounded by up to 5 cars. They then had day visitors which meant that there were up to eleven people at any one time. We were angry that at this Covid time when we cannot go on rallies and meet with friends, there are selfish irresponsible people who feel that rules of social distancing and social activities can be blatantly broken. Another unit felt that they had to move to a different part of the field to get some privacy and space from the group who had taken over the whole CL.

CL Heaven...

We loved this site! Large, fairly level field with views. Ten minutes walk to the village pub, which does excellent meals. We were here for a week, and despite some dull rainy days, our solar panel kept the battery going - even watched some TV! All for a fiver a night... Great walks too! We did a 6 mile circular from the caravan to The Druids' Stones, and you've got to do the 5 miler at Hackfall Gardens - an 18th C wonderland of follies and waterfalls. Then there's Masham to visit (we did the Black Sheep Brewery) and Ripon...

Excellent CL

Fabulous, peaceful location in a lovely village. Farmer very friendly and helpful, and at £5 a night you can not complain about this site! No hook ups, but we like that 'get away from it all' set up. Great area for walking/cycling. Nice walk into Masham. Will be returning for sure.

Lovely CL

A lovely Simple CL.  A square field with nice views across fields and countryside.  The field is a little undulating so we did use levelling blocks but found it easy to level the van (and we are not particularly experienced).  Five minutes drive from Masham where there are a small selection of shops (a fish shop and a co-op included) and a lovely walk by the river.  35mins to walk there over the fields (when we were there they were crop fields so suitable for dogs.  In the village of Fearby there is a local pub within 5 minutes walk.  We will definetely be back.
