Top Grade CL site

I just wanted to add this to the long list of great reviews for this location. We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Field Head Farm and can't wait to return. One word to describe this location - Perfect. From the warm welcome from Anna on arrival to the overall tranquillity of the site, there was nothing that was different from the previous reviews on this, and their own website, that could detract from the site's appeal. The new toilet and washing up area was spotless, as was the whole site with grass cutting taking place when we arrived. We found all amenities clearly marked. This was a chance for us to recharge our batteries and we did just that. The loyalty card is a brilliant idea, making this location even better value for money. This was only my third trip with my caravan but the massive size of the pitches made parking up a doddle, even for an amateur such as myself. This location is quite local to us which makes it the ideal "pack up and go" site after a hectic working week. Already checking calendar for our next booking.

First Visit

This was our first time here and the directions given on the website are in picture format so are much easier to follow. On arrival the pitches are huge, so much so I could have fitted my caravan, car, a full awning and another car on the pitch with space left. My stay was in February so we'll visit again soon when the spring flowers bloom. They're planted in the margins between the pitches in the huge logs that separate each pitch. Views from all pitches are off into the countryside not at each other. The owners are very welcoming and leave you to your own devices. They're currently running a loyalty card where if you stay for 7 nights they'll give you an 8th night free. Overall opinion, fantastic, we'll be back!

Perfect!

From the minute you arrive you will notice the owners have gone the extra mile with all the extras. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and can't wait to revisit. Only wish we lived a lot closer so we could make it our regular weekend stop!

Relaxation!

We stayed on this lovely clean, well maintained site for a few days recently and enjoyed it immensely. Lots of helpful information in the "shed" and a warm welcome made our stay a very happy one. Lovely scenery and places to go, for us and for the dog! Just the place to relax and yet a handy base to explore from.Thank you from Phil & Jackie

Good base to meet up with family

We used this site as a centrally located base when we met up with our family for a Christmas Lunch. We stayed for three nights and were the only van on site. We were made really welcome. Lovely open views. Well maintained hard-standing pitches, great dog walking with access to fields without livestock. The only dog-friendly pub nearby we could find was the Star Inn at Hollington. Friendly people, the pub the locals use, welcoming fire and good beer.

our holiday at Fieldhead Farm Uttoxeter in May 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed this site. All was as described in the Caravan Club handbook. The owners were very friendly and polite. The site was exceptionally well cared for. We enjoyed the fresh farm eggs. site close to Alton Towers, JCB Museum, the town of Uttoxeter is only four miles away. We shall not hesitate to use this site again. A totally relaxed surroundings.

Total Relaxation

From the moment we arrived at this CL we felt very relaxed. This site was booked as a two night stopover to our week away in Melton Mowbray. We enjoyed it so much we booked two nights on our journey home. The pitches are a good size and level with a lovely view. The farm is very clean and very friendly. After speaking to Mrs Brookes we were able to run our two dogs in a nearby field, which was an added bonus, for which we were very grateful. This is a CL site we intend to use often. Thank you very much for your hospitality Mr & Mrs Brookes. See you soon.

Perfect for Us

In our opinion, a top quality CL. Large gravel pitches, 16amp EHU, good water and waste facilities, and free WiFi...lovely friendly owners too who have made a deal of effort providing the information hut. You are on a farm, but its not noisy, and near to Alton Towers if thats your thing. Not too far from Ashbourne, Dovedale and the Tissington trail, with canal walks on the Trent and Mersey within a short drive at Stone, and Fradley.

Love this place :)

This is our third visit, and although we use the CL simply as a base for Alton Towers, we have promised ourselves a break there next year to explore the surrounding area as well. The owners are so friendly and laid-back, the site is beautifully laid out, clean and spacious and so very peaceful. Yes, this is a perfect base for theme-park fans but the area is so beautiful as well, it ticks every box :) Thank you again for a lovely stay!
