Ease of arrival/welcome

A gem

Just spent our first weekend at this lovely CL and it definitely won’t be our last! From our first enquiry by phone we just knew it was going to be a little gem. Had a very warm welcome from Anna on arrival and were told we could stay as long as we wanted on Sunday to make the most of our last day. Pitches are very spacious and level with views of cattle grazing in the fields opposite. Although it is a working farm it is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a little hut with lots of local information about the area and laminated copies of maps and suggested walks which are available to borrow. Lots of games and puzzles for when the weather is not so good. Eggs from the farm hens are also available to buy. We have a motorhome and usually take a water container to fill up the tank as we are never sure how accessible the tap may be but we could have stopped close enough to the tap to be able to use our hose to fill up so will do this next time. The grey water waste point is next to the tap so although you could not get close enough to drain your waste water directly from the tank you could use a bucket. Various walks are accessible from the site. We walked to Croxden Abbey, a walk of about 2 hours well worth doing. The Abbey ruins are very impressive, owned by English Heritage and free to visit. The site is very well located for visiting all that the area has to offer. It is obvious that Mick and Anna take great pride in their site as it is very well tended and looked after and is a credit to them. Hope to return soon and would definitely recommend.
