Lovely short break but with proviso's

We have just returned from Fields End Water where we had a lovely 4 day break. The site is clean and tidy and, as mentioned by other reviewers, quite secluded. Be warned - the track leading to the CL site has a tricky turn necessitating careful negotiation when towing a caravan and there isn't a lot of room between the hedging on the approach to the field entrance. The CL site is located behind the main camping site and is basically a field with 6 markers/electric hook ups and one tap. There is a building in the car park between the field and the smaller of the fishing lakes (the Pool) which houses toilets and (I think) showers. Outside is the chemical toilet disposal facility and fresh water taps, however, because of Covid-19 restrictions the building was not open. There was also a large bin located at the back of the building for rubbish, however, we didn't find it until the last day of our break, in the meantime we were taking our rubbish to the bin area on the main site. There are plenty of dog bins around the main site but the nearest one to the CL site was located on a public footpath that runs parallel to the smaller fishing lake. I also noticed that the CL site didn't have a fire point although the main site has several. I'm guessing that there isn't a statutory requirement but think there should have been one. It may be a good idea to check when the cafe is likely to be open as it was unexpectedly closed on Thursday and Friday this week. The reception area is well laid-out and complies with Covid-19 prevention advice. There are plenty of hand gel points around the main site. The site is very dog friendly. A bowl of water was supplied on the steps to the reception, however, there were no hooks to tie dogs up near reception. When visiting the shop I looped my dog's lead through the fencing on the decking and hoped it was acceptable to do so. Previous reviews have mentioned that the staff were welcoming and friendly but others were not so impressed with the reception they received. We found that the friendliness of the staff was dependent on who was on duty. During our stay we found a couple of members of staff were quite off-hand, however, others were friendly and informative. All-in-all we enjoyed our break, my partner enjoyed the fishing, I enjoyed the walks, however, our stay was slightly marred by some of our CL neighbours playing music/radio loudly enough for us to hear it in our caravan (starting at 7am!) This aside, the CL site left us with a feeling of being 'poor relations' in comparison to those enjoying what seemed to be enhanced facilities offered on the main site.
