We stayed 2 nights at the Fir Tree Wool CL site. Contact with the owner (Lynne) was easy and straightforward. The site is situated in an Ex Christmas Tree Farm and has ample enclosed areas to walk the dog. In addition there is a “picnic area” which was perfect for sitting with a cuppa in the sunshine. There is a water supply to each pitch which was great. Directly from Fir Tree Wood there are beautiful walks around the estate. There are established lanes and paths through wooded and open field areas. The area is so tranquil and peaceful which resulted in a great nights sleep. We would highly recommend and hope to return.
A real find
This is a beautiful site, set among gentle hills, trees and fields. The set up is great, each pitch having hardstanding and its own tap. It was so quiet overnight, we slept very well. We heard owls in the evening and the dawn chorus is quite something. Walking on site is a treat as are the surrounding area and lochs. The link with Robert the Bruce is fascinating. We met Malcolm and Lynne, who came down to check all was ok. They have certainly got everything right as far as we are concerned. We will definitely be back.
