Thank you for your review. We were sorry to hear about you not being able to get a television signal. We parked our caravan on site during the lock down and it managed to pick up over 99 channels so not sure why you had any problems although I noticed you had one of the older type non directional aerials. We had a chat with the people who took your pitch when you decided to move to the adjacent pitch and they have had no problem with their reception. The overhead electricity cables haven't affected any other persons reception and are the low voltage type seen in rural settings and not the large pylon type.
I see that you gave us 3 stars out of 5 for ease of arrival / welcome. When you drove down our lane you drove past our entrance but there is a Caravan Club sign opposite the entrance and the site is clearly visible from the lane, also in the Site Directory Handbook it says site is 200 yards down lane on right. I did spend a little time with you helping you to position your van and you mentioned that you wanted to turn it around to face the other way. This would have meant that your habitation door and canopy would have been looking out on to the private space of the adjacent pitch. As you have a continental van the doors are on the other side. This would have meant that you and your neighbour would have had no privacy. We have had a complaint in the past that someone had their motorhome door opening out on to someone elses lawned area that's why we ask for all habitation doors to open on the same side.
Regarding your 3 stars out of 5 for Access to places of interest locally. We are on Wenlock Edge which is an AONB. 2 miles away is Much Wenlock with its Abbey ruins, 16th Century Guild hall, many historical buildings and birthplace of the modern Olympic games. Ironbridge Gorge is only 15 minutes drive. A World Heritage site with the iconic bridge and many museums to visit. Bridgnorth 20 mins with the Severn Valley Steam Railway and cliff railway in a charming old town with the river Severn running through. There is also historic Shrewsbury and Ludlow a short drive away. It's a pity our site wasn't quite right for you but maybe one closer to the amenities of a town that was within walking distance would be more suitable.
Kind regards
Brian and Alison
