Best CL we have ever stayed on

Being greeted personally by Joan was started of our stay, followed up shortly with tea and coffee was a very good start. We loved having wild deer on site, but you have to accept that they are wild animals. One deer was partial to a bit of bread but was very pushy if she didn't get enough and I was firm with her and walked away. You do have to be careful if you approach them, although sometimes they just run away. The traffic noise was higher at rush hours, but overnight not a problem at all, and as we live in London we are used to it. Don't let it put you off from coming to this site, it is absolutely lovely. Joan came and "visited" a couple of times to make sure we were OK, although I suspect part of it was to see our cat Stanley when he was outside in his crate! She was never intrusive. It is very central to get everywhere and it was a bonus to have a supermarket 10 mins walk away. Joan personally came out to say goodbye We will be booking again to come back next year.

Warm welcome

We were welcomed by Joan, the owner, with a cuppa and biscuits for our dogs. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The entrance to the site was easy and the surroundings were very peaceful. Lovely to see the deers up close and able to touch them. Would thoroughly recommend a visit and we will definatley return. Thank you Joan , for a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely little site

We spent a week here before Easter 2019 and had a lovely stay. we are a family of 6 plus a dog and could not have been made more welcome by Joan who greeted us on arrival with offers of tea and coffee and biscuits for our dog. She was very accommodating when we decided to pitch in a particular way to catch the morning sun in the awning too. The deer were unbelievably tame and a very welcome addition to our stay. The site is well placed as a base for visiting this area of Dorset and we managed to see lots of the Jurassic Coast during our stay. The site itself is a pleasant small field surrounded by trees so is nicely sheltered. The toilet was kept clean and functional and had hot water to the basin. We were aware of the nearby main road but it didn't particularly bother us and certainly didn't disturb our sleep. We didn't hear the neighbouring quarry at all and there was little traffic or noise from the neighbouring C&MH site. There is a well stocked Co-Op five minutes walk away and Tesco in Dorchester was only a short drive. The train station is 5 minutes away in the opposite direction and we did plan to use the train to go into Weymouth but ran out of time. We'll save that for next time as we will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely xmas break

Just spent a most relaxing few days here. Tea on arrival, and Joan could not have been more helpful. Deer came to greet us on arrival also, and returned regularly during our visit, even feeding from our hands. Such a treat. Apart from the odd car at peak times (did not bother us), was a lovely tranquil stay. So much to see and do around this part of Dorset, and all within a short drive. A CO-OP within walking distance supplies ample emergency supplies etc. We have pencilled this one in for a return trip. Had brake light fuse blow on hooking up, and Joan even managed to conjure up a fuse for that. All in all, a recommended little CL.

Lovely little hidden gem

Very warm welcome here, many local treats within easy reach. Lots of local walks for the dogs which are also made very welcome. We had a great week with some late October sun. Our car let us down at the end of our week but the whole family were on hand to assist our recovery and tea/coffee for the recovery driver. Very special place !!!

A very pleasant site

A warm welcome with a cup of tea from Joan was a great start to our stay. This is a quiet site with deer appearing in the evening which are very friendly. Good local shopping available and nicely positioned to give easy access to the Bournemouth and Poole areas.

What a fab CL site

Well what can I say about this little gem of a site apart from the following firstly we was welcome with a excellent and very warm welcome from Joan and hubby with a cup of tea and a biscuit for our little dog Lilly. The site was kept clean and tidy and the each unit staying on this little site was well spaced out , in fact everyone got on very well and the company was good . They is a caravan club site next door which we walked around and we so pleased we didn't book to stay there. There is a train station 2 minutes walk out of the site which we caught the train and went to Weymouth for the day which only cost us £13 return for 2 people which was cheaper then parking in Weymouth which would of cost us £8 for the day plus fuel and made a change for my husband not drive . we would certainly stay at this site again without question or I nearly forgot it was added bonus in the evening when we got visitor's from the deer which was totally friendly and would come into our awning . Thank you for a fab holiday and warm welcome we will see you next year

Pleasant site

Following a warm welcome by Joan, the friendly owner, we stayed here for two nights in August 2018. Unusual to see deer freely roaming the site; unnatural too given their normally very timid nature. During our brief stay we visited the village of Moreton, where TE Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) is buried. The Frampton Arms pub is within easy walking distance and we went there twice, in spite of there being nothing particularly special about it in terms of atmosphere. Overall we were happy with this CL and would recommend it.

a deer little site

We stayed at Five cross for 3 nights in July 2018 as part of a south coast trip, 2 adults 2 children & 2 dogs in 1 caravan. Easy access down drive signposted for unrelated larger club site Crossways with almost immediate right / straight on through gateway into Five cross. Lovely friendly site with frequent visits from deer. Thoughtful touch from owners of a cup of tea on arrival. Having trawled through each and every one of the suitable cl sites for Dorset we are very pleased we picked this one! Wishing the owners all the best for the future.

Nice CL in a lovely area

We arrived on a damp afternoon but the welcome was warm and soon so was the weather! Slopping plot how but not a problem with a few blocks, nearby quarry was quiet and once the trees have leaves you would not notice it. There was some noise from the road passing by but really not an issue. The loo and emptying facility was clean with fresh towels. Overall a nice site which we hope to visit again.
