This is a real gem of a CL. One of the ‘proper’ off-grid sites with nothing to do but enjoy the lovely countryside. We have been coming here for about 10 years. It is located in a nice spot with good views. Access to the site is good and the basic facilities are well maintained. The village is a short walk away, with a handy shop and a pub (though currently closed). There are some pleasant walks along the river bank and around the site and we have had many happy holidays here. Sadly during our last few visits, the peace and quiet of the countryside has been shattered by the noise from motocross bikes scrambling around the surrounding area. It appears that a large motocross track has also been setup just over the river and the noise carries throughout the site. The noise became a bit too much for us, so we reluctantly decided to pack-up and move on. It’s a shame because this was one of our favourite sites and these ‘proper’ CLs are getting harder to find. If you don’t mind bike noise or if you are deaf, then this is still a nice CL.
