Ease of arrival/welcome

Handy, friendly and peaceful

I have been visiting Ford Farm for several years, spending about 60 nights each year on the site. Yes, I rather like the place! For a start, it's convenient for both Stena and P&O ferries, and on arrival it's usual to receive a friendly Ulster welcome from the Halls. It's on a working farm so as you'd expect, there are the associated sounds of sheep and cattle, and the resident wildfowl are regular visitors to the site. It's peaceful, and in a scenic location overlooking Larne Lough, but with useful local shops nearby. I use my own toilet and washing facilities, but on the odd occasion when I've looked into the site's toilet/wash room, it has been perfectly clean and obviously well looked after. Information on what's to be seen and done locally is readily available, and John Hall is a walking encyclopedia on Islandmagee and the surrounding area of Co.Antrim. There are few alternative sites in the area, but I happily recommend this CL, I'm just surprised that it's not busier.
