Well organised site with very good communication from the owners. The site isn't too far from the Tenterden to Rye road but could be in a different world it is so peaceful. There are many possible walks from the site. Plenty of space on each pitch with EHU and water supply. Good local information, with books, magazines and DVDs to borrow. Rye and Tenterden are both very close but so busy that motorhome parking could be problematic.
Outstanding
What a fantastic place. Clean spacious pitches with own water an hook up. Lovely dog walks from site. Great information book on arrival. So tranquil with amazing views. Best bit is , it's only 90mins from home so we will return.
Simply the BEST
We stayed here in June 2023, absolutely fabulous. Lovely cut grass, large pitches spaced out all with water and full 16 Amps power connection.
All pitches nice and sunny, generally West facing so sun till very late with trees far enough away to watch sun set around 8.30pm.
Very clean and modern chemical waste point and lovely little information out building with CD’s to loan out free.
TV signal and Mobile data good.
Very very quiet, never heard a car at all.
Fabulous owners, so helpful and nice.
Lovely 15 min circular dog walk
We could not fault anything.
We will definitely be returning. Such good value.
Thank you Mel and Paul you deserve to be full every night.
So peaceful!
This is a very peaceful site in a good location for visiting places of interest. The pitches are large, fully serviced and the whole site is surrounded by countryside, so the views were good.
The local churches at Wittersham and Appledore had flower festivals the week we visited, which were lovely. Great Dixter and Smallhythe Place which were worth a visit, but Godinton Park and Hole Park were wonderful and highly recommended. Due to visiting friends we also went a bit further and visited Leeds Castle but were glad of our 241 Gardeners World voucher as £31 each was a bit steep.
The Bull Inn at Rolvenden was very good, and also the tapas at the Ancient Boro in Tenterden. The local Wittersham Village Store sells the most delicious home made samosas and onion bhajis, but get there early or they sell out. There are also curries in the freezer which we didn't get to try. Next time!!
The owners were very pleasant and chatty, and we really appreciated the book shed and tourist info, which on many sites is no longer available following Covid. There was also an excellent information pack - everything was very well organised!
Perfect CL
Perfect CL
Quiet, welcoming and dog friendly. A perfect field and lovely large serviced pitches surrounded by nature and sounds of the countryside. Well kept lawn with no cuttings and a pleasant walk directly through the back meadow on a mown track. Well stocked information room and clean amenities. All a credit to the owners hard work. We will definitely be back.
Another lovely stay!
We have had another great break here, very peaceful and very well kept site with spacious plots.
Hosts are friendly and informative.
Loads to do and see in the area, including long walks from site.
Will be back next year!

What more could you want?
Perfectly positioned 5 miles from Tenterden and Rye with footpaths through the High Weald directly from the site. The site is out of sight from the road, secure and beautifully maintained. The site has a fab dog walking area in the field next to the pitches. The pitches are all large, supplied with electric and water and the owners are happy for a grey waste drain pipe to run directly to the hedge. The only sounds you here is that of the countryside and the pitches are all positioned to make best use of the Sunlight with a lovely view of the sunset in the evening. It is a great certified location and the owners are helpful and friendly. I'm not sure what more we'd want. We will be back at some point.
Brilliant CL
We have used Forge Meadow many times in the past and have just spent another three delightful days there. The site is down a road which leads to nowhere so there is no passing traffic. Despite the lane being narrow we have never met another vehicle either coming or going on any of our visits, so the site is extremely quiet. There plentiful walks directly from the site across the owners grass meadows. Paul and Mel are a delight to deal with and are friendly, welcoming and are there if you need them. Paul is a blacksmith and has his own forge on site and has allowed us to visit it and watch him work, a real craftsman. They have over the years gradually improved the site and the pitches have now been separated with a line of shrubs which gives a sense of ownership to your pitch. They have also introduced an A4 Folder for each pitch which provides all the information you need to make sure your stay is the best it can be. It includes details of the facilities on site and where they are as well as Doctors, Vets and Hospital phone numbers and addresses. Also included are the many local hostelries and their mileage from the site and their details.
A map of the footpaths which cross their land is also included and their information hut has a full library as well as leaflets from the many local places to visit. We rate this site as one of the best we have used and will always come back to it all the while Paul and Mel own it what a lovely couple.

Lovely site, can’t wait to go back!
We had 5 nights at Forge Meadow earlier this month. It is a lovely quiet, peaceful, level, grassy site with very generous sized pitches and a very well stocked information hut. There is so much to do in the area and we liked the site so much that we will definitely be back next year.

Lovely Site
We visited for a week, communication was very good with the owners in booking and before arrival, the site is very well laid out, well maintained with a good information hut. Taps are on each pitch which essentially provide you with a service pitch. Pitches are large and well spread out, you pitch as per a normal club site with the peg on the corner of the van, works fine and gives good distances between the pitches.
The area is really nice with plenty of places to visit.
We would definitely return to this site 😀
