Beautiful well kept site with lovely owners

We've been to Linda and Charlie's beautiful site a number of times now and each time we arrive we remember how beautiful it is. Nice short, well kept field with nice size pitches and everything immaculately clean. Linda was especially good with sanitising everything during our stays, when allowed, during covid. The views are wonderful and although there's some road noise, it's never disturbed us or made any difference to our lovely stay. There are alpacas, chickens, geese and a duck as well to watch The site is brilliantly placed for cycling in the forest, there's a pub very close and a great community shop in Woodgreen. For bigger shops Fordingbridge and Ringwood aren't too far to travel. Linda and Charlie are lovely, friendly and helpful....Will be coming back soon Teresa and Nigel

Peace and Lovely Walks

We had a great stay. The owner explained she would be out on arrival so she ensured we had all the information and had allocated a site for us. It was very quiet and even the resident geese and chickens were quiet and contented, with their eggs offered for sale. There were several walks we did from the caravan which were well signed and interesting. We also found others from nearby car parks to explore the forest and enjoy the beautiful countryside, birds plants and wild animals. A very enjoyable break in fantastic surroundings.

Nice site but....

A very pleasant site with spotless utilities etc. BUT Be careful on arrival as you have to pass through 2 gates which are very close together to access the field. This means your caravan will stick out onto what can be and usually is, a busy road. We had travelled from Cornwall and after an early start we arrived at 1.30. In the field there was a notice board with our name on it, together with our pitch number and a small sketch of how to site your caravan, awning and car. There were no other Caravans on site at the time, so nothing to compare with, so I sighted our caravan parallel to the road in order to try and reduce road noise and optimise sunshine in the awning. Big Mistake!!! After around 2 hours the awning was up and all finished. 2 hours later at 5.30 we had a visit from the owner who hadn't noticed we had arrived 4 hours earlier and who's first words were you can't park that way round you will have to move didn't you see the notice board. I pleaded my innocence but no, I had to move. Covid was sited as a reason so as to give spacing between caravans when in fact turning actually made us closer to our neighbours when they arrived. At least we were all lined up in a nice tidy row. So, none of pleasantries you would normally expect from cl site owners. We alway stay on cl sites as they afford a relaxed atmosphere, sadly in this instance it was not the case. Lovely large site, just not allowed to make the most of it.

Tidy site

A very clean and tidy site. A bit regimented as to how you had to site your caravan . A tight entrance off a fairly busy road and two gates to negotiate. The caravans were sited near the road side so a lot of traffic noise late evening and early morning. Pub nearby but not really a good meal and cramped because of COVID restrictions. Only availability at this difficult time

First CL site used

First time used a CL site wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised how relaxed ,clean and tidy. Names on board on arrival advising where to pitch, saw owners but left they leave you alone. Pub just down the road Fighting Cocks as w quite a view of bad reviews but we used on two nights had no issues nice food, and friendly staff. A little bit of road noise until it gets dark at which point I think everyone stops driving as didn’t hear a thing from then👍👍👍

Lovely site

We have just spent 2 nights on this lovely site. We were on pitch 1 and enjoyed the lovely views and had plenty of room to sit out with chairs and table under our awning. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and we were pleased to see how all the COVID-19 regulations were followed to make the site safe. Thank you. PS we have a French Motorhome

Be Wary

Very clean, well maintained and tidy site. However: Be wary, if you have a continental unit with the door on the driver’s side, should you be allocated pitch 1 you may not be able to use your awning or blind as it will interfere with the opening of the gate. The, not very amenable site owners, insisted we should end up on this pitch even though there were other pitches available. Their only other suggestion was to face into the hedge, and loose the lovely view!

Great location

A welcome board was left out for us with pitch number etc on. The B road is busy as other reviewers have said but we chose this site for accessible roads and views so noise from the road is an acceptable trade off. I suspect the road is much quieter out of peak season. Have to disagree with previous reviewer about site layout. Yes the road is behind pitches but so is a hedge protecting you from the wind and martins were constantly swooping low over the grass clearly visible from the caravan. The owners told us there is usually space available; I think this is probably because the site doesn’t take dogs. A about 200 yards along the road from the site is a cattle grid. The other side of the cattle grid are the horses and land scape the new forest is famous for.
