Excellent Stay

We have just had a 5 night stay at this lovely CL site. It is situated in a village and conveniently located to visit Newquay, Truro, Mevagissey and Padstow to name but a few. It is a flat site with grass and hard standing pitches all with EHU . A really quiet peaceful location would definitely recommend it. The owner meets you as you arrive to show you the perfect pitch to suit your outfit which is great especially to newbie motorhome owners like us. We will definitely be back

lovely site

We have used this site many times , at least twice a year (usually 3 times) . The last time we visited was September 2021 when Colin, the owner was quite frail. We was due to come again after Christmas but unfortunately had to cancel, at the time of cancelling we was told that Colin had recently died. We booked again for our usual 2 weeks in June, concerned that the site may not be as well kept or as welcoming. We needn't have worried as the site is still pristeen and is now run by Colins Son & daughter-in-law. The site no longer has a resident dog as since Colins death it has been re-homed. My only piece of advice to anyone wishing to book this perfect site is to telephone rather than email, as they are currently having trouble accessing Colins email address. Please give the new custodians a chance as this site is tranquil and is perfectly sited to tour Cornwall.

23 January 2022. I have just spent the week at Frenton Farm. The site is now run by the son and daughter-in-law of the owners mentioned in other reviews and both were friendly and welcoming in true Cornish fashion. I am a dog owner and despite reading the reviews about the owners’ rescued German Shepherd dog attacking a member’s dog when visiting, I decided to give the site a go as it is one of only a few sites which is open all year round. I am pleased to inform and reassure everyone that, whilst the dog is still there, the owners have taken measures to ensure that such an event should not recur; including creating a confined area for it to be in at the owner’s house and working with professionals to rehabilitate the dog. A couple of things to note when visiting: There are no on-site shower or toilet facilities and the approach to the site from the main road needs to be negotiated with care for owners of larger/twin axle caravans. Overall the site peaceful, well maintained and perfect for relaxing on-site or (being situated pretty much in the middle of Cornwall) travelling around the county. I concur with the many comments which reflect that this is a gem of a site. I will be returning.

Great Site

We stayed here for four nights in our Motorhome in September. This site is very well kept with two level hard standing pitches for Motorhomes. Excellent and well organised recycling facilities. The grass is kept mown and the clippings collected. There is another five pitch CL adjoining. They are separate to one another. There is a dog walk through woodland for dog owners. The Wi-Fi is excellent and works well, especially if you’re researching places of interest. The site is on a bus route, but being a rural area, services are limited, so we didn’t use them. A good tip for Motorhome owners is the fishing village of Mevagissey which isn’t far away and has Motorhome parking in the Willow Car Park, which is only five minutes walk from the centre of the village and harbour. We enjoyed our stay.

Would recommend this site

This is first time we have been to this site and will be returning. Colin welcomed us to our pitch. The site is ideal for exploring Cornwall. Colin comes round every day with his dog to have a check that everything is ok. it is kept very neat tidy. Getting to places of interest is very easy. The only thing would like to point out that the left hand side CL if you have a twin axle Lunar you will not get out the bottom gate as the van is lower than most vans. We have a BMW and Lunar twin and got stuck its OK for every other van. thank you both for an enjoyable stay. Geoff & Margaret

We don't like giving 5 stars but Colin Deserves them

We hate giving any CL 5 stars as it means we may not be able to visit again in the future as it will possibly be FULL!!! Colin and May's CL is a true JEM. It is kept immaculately and he has extra pitches marked whch are rotated to keep the grass in perfect codition. In all our CL visits this is the first where the owner had provided at least fifteen meters of water hose 'COMPLETE' with an adapter to fill a motorhome water tank!!! Colin is a fantastic gentleman with a wonderful outlook on life. We spent a lovely five days, mainly relaxing but there were many places to see locally of interest. Thank you again Jane & Martin

Cornish Gem

Found directions easy to follow and got to entrance okay. Driveway gets a bit tight nearer the actual site and occasionally finding vehicles parked near playing field along the beginning of it. Level grass field and made welcome, shown where things were, you get your own dustbin! Close to Eden Project and Heligan Gardens. Lots of other places within a reasonable distance. Would we go back? Definitely if going to this part of Cornwall.

Warmest of welcomes.

Have been here for several months during lockdown as I am a full-time van dweller and needed a safe spot. I was made very welcome by Colin and May. I am so grateful to have found this little haven of tranquility during these uncertain times and to have the honour of the owners friendship. The site is beautifully maintained and has a lovely 5 acre woodland dog walk within the site. I have enjoyed catching glimpses of deer, foxes and rabbits in addition to many a pleasant hour spent bird watching. It's been the lovely warm welcome I received that really sets it apart though. Colin and May are wonderful people who have made my lockdown so much easier. I couldn't have hoped for a kinder, funnier social bubble.

Our go to C L

This C L has all we need . It is in the middle of everywhere, 10 miles or so from both the North and South Coast of Cornwall. it is kept very tidy and clean and great care has been taken to be Covid secure. Colin and May are lovely hosts and put themselves out to make sure you are happy. The dog walk is great and handy. Access to the site is straight forward.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

We used this site as we were touring in the area. Directions from the book were perfect. Colin met us on his scooter and we had the choice of 2 pitches. Gave us perfect advice on how to position our caravan as the ground had been wet and we stayed there for 4 nights. Grass is kept immaculate no loose cuttings. No problems what so ever. You are given a pack with loads of information about Cornwall and surrounding area, a map of the site and the recycling information which worked to perfection. Colin was very helpful with any questions you had of the area. You would see him every morning taking his dog for a walk and would make sure everything was ok. The dog walk is great. Ours loved the woods and being allowed to be free. Would really recommend and our only wish is that it was nearer to us so we could use it more often. Many thanks Colin and May for a wonderful stay, From the young ones!!
