Lovely Site

Stayed here to visit Ipswich and watch their football team batter Sheffield Wednesday 6-0, but that's another matter! Lovely site - great entrance and well sign-posted to the CL section - we arrived in darkness but managed to find our way. EHU was easy and the water/waste all nearby in a big screened off area. There is a drive over motorhome disposal bit - a bit tricky to negotiate but we aren't great at reversing - so it was a bit tight for us!! Had breakfast in the club house which was lovely and the staff were welcoming and helpful. About a 5 minute walk from the CL site. Visited the driving range - balls and mats aren't great unfortunately - shame as it has the makings of a fab little range. Didn't play the course so can't comment on greens. We took train to Ipswich and back again from Westerfield station - about a half hour walk from the site down country roads - we needed our phone torches on the way back as part of the walk is on the road. 30 minute walk to the station. Would defo stay here if we do Ipswich away again!

Great site

Booked this site as needed to be in the area, really didn’t expect it to be so good. Hard standing, Electric hookups, and water supply to pitches, drive over motorhome waste and all spotless. Breakfast and more in the golf club cafe, add to this the wildlife, green woodpeckers, owls, lots more, and the entertainment of watching some golf, really can’t understand why we were the only ones there, although not complaining about that!!

An unusual but delightful CL site.

Spent four nights here at the start of a baking hot July and really enjoyed it. "Pitching" (pun-intended) on a golf course is an interesting feeling but the site was enjoyable and the ability to use the onsite cafe was a definite bonus. There was very little noise from the golfers and at night the site was silent. Toilets and showers are usually for the golfers and were almost hotel standard (though we only used them whilst visiting the cafe). If you are into golf then you can use the golf course and if, like us, you're not then the driving range is a fun and inexpensive way to spend an hour or so. As usual I've made a short video showing off the site which you can view here https://youtu.be/PXPqEgSvhhw (Please like and subscribe and hit the bell if you found it useful and would like to see more of my CL videos.)

This could be oh so easilly an excellent site...... if only

There is an enormous amount of building work going on at the golf club and this work has resulted in the access tracks to the CL be more than somewhat bumpy, but no doubt as soon as this work is completed the track will be made smooth once more. At the site itself, which overlooks the fifth fairway and 6th tee there is quite literally masses of room for you to pitch your outfit and the dog walking from here is truly excellent. I have one major grouse and that is the waste disposal facilities, the chemical disposal point is fine, however there was only one single dustbin, so how on the earth could anyone split their rubbish up for recycling? !! The showers in the old clubhouse are old but more than adequate and they will no doubt be improved on enormously when the new clubhouse is opened in a few months time. We will no doubt be stopping here when we are in the area again.

A great peaceful weekend

Just had a great weekend at Fynn Valley Golf Club. The site is located on the far side of the golf club next to the 6th Tee. A beautiful location with some great walks close by into Witnesham one way and Tuddenham the other. You can use the showers in the main complex along with the casual bar. The site itself has the basics, water, CDP and bins, the ground is level and well kept. No electric hook up but with a solar panel on board who needs it! We will definitely be back.

A LOVELY CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR C.L.

WE HAVE JUST SPENT TWO NIGHTS AT THE FYNN VALLEY CARAVAN PARK AND CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. FROM BOOKING TO DEPARTURE THE STAFF WERE HELPFUL AND POLITE. WE ENJOYED A NICE LUNCH IN THE BAR AND IN THE EVENING WENT TO THE RESTAURANT WHERE THERE WAS ENTERTAINMENT AND A TWO COURSE MEAL FOR £10.00 PER PERSON. HAD WE HAD TIME WE COULD HAVE HAD A ROUND OF GOLF AT A REDUCED PRICE AND THERE WAS ALSO A PAR 3 COURSE. WE VISITED THE SHOTLEY GATE, SUTTON HOO (NATIONAL TRUST) AND THE WATERFRONT AT IPSWICH, ALL VERY INTERESTING OUTINGS WITHIN EASY REACH.

Peace and tranquility

We stayed at the Fynn Valley lodges last year which were fantastic, and definately recommend, and found this CL site but did not have a caravan at the time. We knew we would return one day. The CL site is so peaceful tucked away towards the bottom of the golf course. There is access to shower facilities from 7.30 am at the Clubhouse and, surprisingly, towels are provided. Nice to have the option to have a drink, or bite to eat, in the Clubhouse. There are lots of places to visit in the surrounding area ie Woodbridge, Snape Malting, Southwold, Aldeburgh and then Cambridge about 45 minutes away. There are several walks from the site. As new caravaneers we were anxious there was no electric up hook for our seven night stay. However, we were given access to a battery charger to top-up when required. Yes, we would definately return, aiming for the bottom pitch which is the perfect position for the afternoon sun.  We would however bring an additional source of power.

Watch Out for Golf Buggies Driven By Children

My wife and I stayed at the Fynn Valley Golf Club (Ipswich) CL site for the nights of 19, 20 and 21 April 2013. I am writing in order to provide feedback of the site and to advise you of an incident there on Saturday night, about 1900hrs. Booking the site by phone was good. There are not enough direction signs. to show you where the CL site is located. I spoke to someone who worked there and he agreed, saying that it would be rectified. Pitches are good and are hard standings. Water facilities etc are also good. On Saturday night we had a dinner engagement in Ipswich. Whilst driving out of the site the route took us behind some buildings, around which are two blind corners. Having negotiated one OK there was a straight bit of road about 50 yds long. As soon as I entered the straight I saw a golf buggy (they are substantial vehicles) racing (and I do mean going max speed) around the next corner and coming towards my car. I stopped because I did not know where the buggy was going to go. 2 seconds later it ran at full speed into the offside of my car. I could not get out as it was hard against my door. This was witnessed by the same man referred to earlier. The buggy's occupants were 2 children, estimated ages 7 and 8. They were wearing crash helmets so I did not see their faces. The witness told the buggy driver how to steer away from my car.He told the driver to say sorry. I did not see the minor damage to my car that night. At any rate, there was no way that I could claim from their insurance as they were underage. The following Monday I checked out and relayed these details to the man and woman who worked in the Pro shop (that's where CL matters are dealt with.) They expressed horror and sympathy about the incident and said that no record of this appeared in their incident book. They also said that nobody can drive the buggies without a licence. The witness referred to earlier was then fetched (he is an employee there). He asked me why I was complaining as "he had already said sorry at the time". I had a discussion with him which gradually became heated. I found out that the 2 children in the buggy were his grandchildren, further I found out that the driver was a 6 year old boy. The grandfather did not give any indication that the children really did anything wrong. I asked him did he think it was OK for a six-year old to drive one of these vehicles? Did he not realise that the incident could have been far worse. If the buggy had run into anyone serious injuries could have been caused. I ended the discussion by stating that I would take up his suggestion of making a complaint if I thought it was a serious incident. He showed no remorse. I would like the Caravan club to either put a warning in the sites directory about the possiblityof collision with golf buggies drive by children and/or write to the manager of the CL site at Fynn Valley Golf Club seeking assurances that this kind of incident is totally unacceptable and that actions ar
