Great site

Just spent 2 nights at this site, a nearby weekend away. The site is great, quiet and peaceful, pitches very tidy (like the rest of the site) and fully serviced. Only a short walk from Gardenstone and Crovie meant we could leave the van and go out for the day on foot. The owner, Linda, couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely be back!

Relaxing Location

We stayed at this CL for 6 nights at the end off June. All pitches are hard standing with water and waste to each, however, you may need extra hosepipe and waste pipe to reach the tap and grid that are situated on the opposite side of the pitch to your water and waste positions (depending on your pitch). The site is well looked after and very relaxing and peaceful. Lots of little fishing villages to visit in the area. We would definately stay again.

Our 2nd stay at Gamrie Bay and we had another wonderful stay. Another warm welcome from Linda and Michael who can't do enough to help you settle in. Wonderful jar of Gamrie Bay Honey from the sites own bees! Site is immaculate as it was 5yrs ago on our first visit. Will return for sure. Thanks Wayne and Angie Stevenson.

Perfect site

We stayed here for two nights and would have stayed longer if we had time. This is a perfect site for us. It has been recently built and all pitches have water and and ECU. The site has two Chemical disposal and rubbish recycling points. Well spaced out pitches. There is no toilet/shower block and we think this is the way forward for motorhome/caravan sites. Our vans have more than adequate facilities on board. In recent years there seems to have developed a fashion for bigger and smarter shower blocks at ever increasing site fees. Linda the owner is very friendly and helpful. lots of walks and pretty coastal villages to explore. We hope to return for a longer stay.

Cracking Site Grommit

A truly delightful CAMC Certified Location. We booked 5 nights in early June 2021 and like another reviewer it was just not long enough and we reluctantly moved onwards in the morning to our next booked site. The CL does offer fly fishing on their beat of the river Deveron but I was not able to fit that in The site is made up from two areas which can referred to as original and new both of them offering fully serviced pitched, excellent TV and mobile phone reception. The pitches have countryside views and are also quite sheltered We had fantastic weather during our stay and our hosts were always helpful and available if required A real gem of a site and I thoroughly recommend spending some time here staying on the site and exploring the area. Many thanks to Linda and Michael Top Tips are:- Gardenstown - take the winding road down the cliffs to park at the bottom and spend a half day wandering the town and beach, with a walk along to Crovie Pennan - again a half day wandering around exploring the beautiful cliff backed coastline bay Turrif - About 11 miles away there is Fly fishing at Delgatie Castle is excellent and the town is pleasant to wander with many shops and a good well stocked Tesco Whitehills, Banff and Macduff - thriving harbour towns perfect for wandering and dolphin watching Fraserburgh - drive the east coastal route enjoying the scenery and small bay villages and stick to the coast for the best views. Asda is on the west end of Fraserburgh, the harbour and many industrial deep sea fishing vessels in the centre, and a gorgeous beach on the east / south corner is wonderful for walking the dog or simply just taking in the light and air

5 Star Rating in every aspect

We chose this CL as it is extremely well placed in an area of northern Scotland we had yet to explore. Booked in 2020 having spoken to Linda about the site and the area. So useful to be able to chat and be reassured by someone who knew the area so well. Whilst it is not uncommon for CL owners to ask for a deposit when booking, Linda's trust in CMC members to do the right thing was nice - even more so in these difficult times regarding Covid and travel restrictions. In making our choice to stay at the CL I was interested in the little mention that is made in their listing about fishing either a local Loch or in my case on the River Deveron. Linda briefly outlined that Michael could arrange whatever I required and so I arrived well prepared for some prime river fishing on one of Scotland's premier rivers. Once you arrive on site it could not be more simple - all pitches are clearly marked and we had been informed of which was to be ours for the 8 nights we stayed. The fact that each pitch is FULL SERVICE is a real bonus but the views and peace and tranquility also go a long way to making this a truly amazing CL. So what to do in this area: Cycling, especially ebiking, on roads that are well maintained and hardly used by cars is a real pleasure. Easily possible to accomplish rides of 45 miles and see some truly amazing scenery and famous Scottish beaches. Visiting more local villages by car also allows for some great walks on the beach or along cliff tops. Michael also runs the local wet fish shop in Gardenstown so you can get the best of local fish right on the door step or he will also deliver it to your pitch. What a service. Now to the fishing - well Michael really made my trip - he is a very accomplished salmon fisher and was keen for me to experience this discipline - sadly whist I had 3 good opportunities I did not connect with one. However, it was different story when Michael had booked and organised a day for us on the Mayen House Beat across the river from his own beat. I am not going to spoil the anticipation for readers who are interested - just let me say it was an experience of the highest order with Michael acting as Ghillie, Mentor as well as Head Chef for an amazing lunch. I hope that you both are able to use some of the photos I have shared with you as these show some of the wonderful places and scenery available as well as the truly memorable fishing day. Linda and Michael deserve our support as Club members and whilst their CL is at the top end of the UK it is a trip that is certainly worth the effort. You will leave well rested and relaxed having seen and experienced a very special place managed by equally special people.

Update for new pitches

This was pur second visit but the first time since the revamp. We managed to get booked for the opening days of 2021, post covid lockdown. This time we stayed on the new pitches and were able to take advantage of the fantastic views. Lovely warm welcome from Linda the owner and found they had put a lot of hard work into the new pitches. All hard standing and fully serviced and there is now a motorhome point on the drive for filling and emptying. Large spacious pitches and very well cared for. Large grass area and small solar lights to mark the drive at night. Even though the site was full during our week long stay, it was still very quiet and peaceful and there is loads of space between the pitches. We can not recommend this site any more highly. For anyone visiting the area this site is fantastic value for money and a great base to explore the beautiful coastline. For us its a 240 mile round trip but we will definitely be back.

Winter Break Lovely Place

As others have said the facilities are brilliant , new , easy to use and they have thought of everything to make your stay very pleasant. The pitches are large and well serviced, even when we arrived in the dark it was easily found. Linda couldn't have been any more helpful, and highly recommend this site.
