Ease of arrival/welcome

NOISE from road is unbelievable

On arrival there is big signs for Gayton marina but thank god we didn’t turn in as turning around would have been an issue, no signage to say go past the first set of gates and turn into the next set, I emailed the previous day to ask for arrival information and was sent an address and that it was over two narrow canal bridges nothing about a different entrance, there is no CAMC sign up and god forbid if you arrive after 5 as reception is closed and you need a code to open the gates, was never asked for an arrival time either. When you do drive the 150 yards past the marina you go through the gates into a carpark on the side of a BUSY NOISY A45, that’s how it feels, we arrived at 4.30 it’s now 23.30 and still the road noise is horrific, the only thing separating you and the road is a canal and hedgerow if I could attach a sound bite I would as I’m sure only those that can sleep in ear defenders will come. It’s not full serviced, it’s hardcore thrown on some waste ground with a patch of mown weeds if you want a grass pitch. There is one toilet for each sex and just 1 shower. These are shared with the marina, there are no bins, you have to walk to the marina to find a bin, the water pressure to fill up a 40l aqua roll is laughable, it’s so slow you can leave it running empty the grey waste, make a cuppa and then go collect your aquaroll. This site really is an after thought, it’s a case of we have a bit of waste ground let’s throw down massive hardcore (don’t bring an air awning) and let a few vans stay on it. Rant over I can’t sleep TO NOISY
