Tranquility in the rural Shropshire countryside
Shropshire is a lovely county. It doesn't get the same appreciation as some other counties, but it should. Shrewsbury is a very interesting city not far from the site and the small town of Church Stretton is well worth a visit.
Set in the rolling countryside, the site is maybe in need of a touch of TLC.
All the facilities are in place, it's just that they're a bit tired.
As others have commented, the toilet block that never was, silently dominates like the elephant in the room.
Obviously begun to up grade the existing facilities, for one reason or another, it has never been completed. This is a big shame as the current existing toilet block, although clean, is past its best. It is also attached to the private house of the proprietor and you do feel as though you're entering their garden.
Also, as others have commented, we never at any time during our stay saw the proprietor, however for us this wasn't a problem.
These points are just ones to bear in mind. Our stay was great and the size of the pitches were very generous. My husband worked for 2 days using the free WiFi and it worked fine. The site is popular and was full over the weekend and we will be back for a short break stay in the future.
