Great CL in a good locaqtion

We loved our stay here, we were very lucky as the A489 was shut completely during the weekdays of our stay and I suspect this had also reduced the traffic using it at the weekend we left. To be honest, the road noise wasn't that bad when vehicles passed the CL and the pitches are as far as they can be from the road. I wouldn't have any issue with it, especially as we are usually out all day anyway, but I can't give it 5 stars for peace as there's no escaping the fact that the road is there.. The CL is in a great location, easy access to Craven Arms and Ludlow, the Long Mynd and Stiperstones national nature reserve, several NT and other gardens/houses/castles, with nice walks possible direct from the CL field along/around the Onny Trail. Access is very easy, although it is literally turning off the A489 onto the access drive, so it is a good idea to know exactly where it is so you can slow down and indicate in plenty of time. We'd looked on streetview, so we knew the layout and the owners were also very helpful on the phone. There are two large hardstanding pitches, one of which we got the van, porch awning and car on. The rest is grass, which after a very soggy spring was still a bit boggy when we arrived but I think would have been useable by the time we left. The tipping point was in a fenced off area off the access drive and of of a good standard. The owners were very friendly and helpful and this is a very nice CL, which I will be happy to return to.

Great little CL

Easy to find with good access. A very warm welcome from Norman and excellent info from him when we made our booking. He went out of his way to accurately describe the site and its facilities and was 100% accurate. A nice level grassed site with hardstanding pitches which backs onto a pretty little river. There is EHU at each pitch and central fresh water and grey disposal facilities. There's a little hut with lots of information. The cassette emptying area is by the entrance well away from the pitches and again, is well organised and planned. Good dog walking facilities and a little gate takes you along the river footpath. There is road noise. The A road is well used. But it's quiet at night which is the most important thing after all! It's not too bad and we easily tuned it out. Good location for cyclists who enjoy challenging hill climbs! We would certainly use this CL again.

Love it here will be back soon

Beautiful setting right on the River Onny near Craven Arms - Excellent access to grass pitches with EHU. Water & toilet waste disposal available Norman & Pete are always very welcoming to us & our dog. The walks direct from the site are super - along the Onny trail and other walks (wellies needed after rain) There is plenty in the area to interest us - We love the lead mine at Snail Beach - well worth a visit, with walks. Nearby towns are super Be aware adjacent road can be a noisy but it is no problem to us & we are used to a very quiet area where we live
