Winters Stay a must

3rd time here first time snow camping. Everything you need here for a CL, excellent hard standing pitches, plenty of room, site a sloping but fine with a ramp. All pitches are serviced with EHU, Tap and grey water although as it was down to -10 when we were there, it wasnt worth connecting up as your pipes would have frozen :-) Owners really helpful, especially when it came to digging us out after 2 prior departures turned the exit road into an ice rink dragging their units out the Jeremy Clarkson way ( if you know, you know ) Excellent weekend or longer stop plenty to do and see and peaceful at night. Shower / Toilet wet room a real bonus too.

Excellent value

The pitches are nicely spaced out and the whole site is well kept with a nice open feel. Very easy access, clean large shower and toilet, ample dog walk area (though it isn't gated so depending on your dog you may need to keep them on a lead) and serviced pitches at £22 per night is excellent value. Although this gives the feel of being of being remote, it's only 10 mins to Leek where there are several supermarkets, 5 mins in the opposite direction is "the Cottage Kitchen" cafe with an excellent menu including an all day breakfast (dog friendly on outside covered terrace). There is also an Indian take away at the first junction just down the road! Having stayed almost exclusively at club sites up until the start of this year, and having now used 3 CL's and an independent site, we are looking at CL's as our preferred choice for the future and this would be top of our list if we return to that area. Would recommend.

Fabulous dog friendly site

Had a fabulous weekend at Goatfell farm. Lovely big fully serviced hard standing pitches and spotless washing up area, shower and toilet. Great dog exercise area. Perfect site to access the Staffordshire Moorlands, close to the Roaches, Rudyard lake, Leek and the Peak District. Sally and Martin are perfect hosts, discrete but there if you need them and you can even buy some of Sallys super plants …. We can highly recommend and we will be back

Absolutely fabulous

We have just spent 4 nights here. Immaculately kept, plenty of space, friendly owners. Lots of lovely wildflower areas. Large dog exercise field was such a plus for our two youngsters. Great base for exploring. We loved Rudyard Lake and the Roaches. Will be returning soon!

Lovely weekend stay

Took my two dogs to stay, used the dog walking area, which was so pretty with wild flowers, mowed area and fenced. Lovely gardens and the variety of birds I saw were amazing. Very friendly welcome and chat with owner and her lovely dog. Short walk on main road which then leads onto lanes that are quieter to hike or dog walk, some public footpaths accessible but some overgrown sadly. Lovely clean facilities and powerful shower. So yes, liked it very much.

Great little CL

We visited this site in June '22 and loved it, lovely views from the very generous and well serviced pitches. The shower and toilet are clean and just what we needed. There are a plethora of footpaths from the site in a variety of directions, unfortunately the footpaths aren't always well maintained - of course this is no reflection on the site owners, just additional information. The Old Red Lion in nearby Ipstones does great food and beer and is just 3 mies away, walkable if you're happy to walk on the relatively busy road or fight your way along the aforementioned overgrown footpaths that criss cross the countryside. Martin and Sally were very welcoming, and accommodating, and we'll definitely be back for another visit to this lovely little site.

Excellent CL

Having arrived at CL we were meet by Martin who showed us around CL, met Sally later, both very nice owners, site has fully serviced pitches all on hard standing. Ideal area next to pitches to let your dog run free. Also Sally has chickens so we had some fresh eggs (excellent). Some slight traffic noise but not too much. Will return. All the best to Martin &Sally.p.s. Sally also sells plants excellent value.

Great CL, great owners, and great value!

We spent four nights at Goatfell Farm in early May 2022. We couldn't fault it! All the five pitches are fully serviced with meticulously maintained gravel hardstandings. We did need our levelling blocks, but the slope was minimal. The lawned areas are neatly mown. The rubbish bins and chemical toilet facility are well situated and spotlessly clean, with well labelled recycling and not an overflowing bin in sight. There is a lovely wet room with toilet off a room with washing machine and tourist information. Martin and Sally were delightful hosts. Sally welcomed us to the site as soon as we arrived and we bought some very reasonably priced eggs from her, laid by the hens on the farm. The site is well situated near the A523 to Congleton (you can hear this a bit), and there is so much to do from here. We visited Biddolph Grange Garden (glorious), Little Moreton Hall (unique) and Lyme (impressive), all National Trust. There is a lot of wonderful countryside within reach too. We'll be back, Sally and Martin! As an added bonus, there is a very recently refurbished Air B&B on the farm. Martin showed me inside and it is beautiful, with everything a couple could want. So if you want to come here with friends or family who don't have a caravan or motorhome, they could stay there. Martin suggests you ring the CL number to discuss this.
