Avoid in wet weather

Nobody around when we arrived. A fellow camper told us where to pitch. Very wet. Hardstandings far too small and opposite each other which made manoeuvring difficult. Sure its beautiful in sunny dry weather but otherwise ..,.avoid. Bonus of excellent on site shop. Toilets are just about adequate but really need updating. No sign of owners during stay. Paid shop assistant for pitch before leaving. No evidence of noisy departures as per earlier review.

Perfect

A level, mainly grass CL with hook up. The toilets are now accessible at all times and not just when the shop is open. Far reaching views across the generally level landscape. Lots of white geese grazing peacefully in the next field. Shop and cafe a bonus for fresh produce and a good coffee. Love it.

nice place

have stayed here a few times now getting to know the owner who is a very nice chap.good flat site but you may need to use leveling ramps to get your van dead level.donkeys in the field next to the site kept us amused.as do the geese that give the site it's name.Good for dog owners as a short drive up the lane is a long track leading to a wood were you can take them for a good run.

A Little Gem

Wonderful, warm welcome from very friendly, helpful owners. Basically a field next to a working farm and farm shop. Toilet facilities were very good. Food served in farm shop was very good. Excellent location for visiting local area. Will definitely return

A Feal Working Farm.

A lovely welcome, a beautiful site, a gorgeous area, what more could you want? This is a working farm with a very popular farm shop so, although not the most peaceful place, it is really interesting. Children will love the farm life, with chickens wandering round. The farm shop will provide most of your daily need and some real luxury goods. Plus a bacon butty for your breakfast. Go there. We are booked to go back.

A great CL

Spent long weekend at this lovely site.  Very warm welcome on arrival.  The field is flat and overlooks the field with 1300 geese who are very entertaining.  There was not as much noise from the geese as we anticipated.  The round-up by the sheepdogs each evening to get the geese into the safety of their nearby barn was superb entertainment.  Easy access from the road, and quite close to several National Trust properties, plus the excellent Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton.  Highly recommended. We will certainly use this site again.

Its hard to fault this welcoming CL

We have just got back from staying a week at Goose Slade Farm. The CL is located off the A37 South of Yeovil the access roads to site is very good with no narrow bits to cope with. We were met by the owner immediately we arrived, and we had the options where we wanted to pitch. There is a good hard standing area for wet weather. The owners are very helpful as we did not know how long we could stay and our booking was on a daily basis and they were happy to do this. The farm has a busy farm shop that sells a variety of goods including beer and wine. During our stay we did not actually see any geese others have spoken about. There is a great circular walk of about 4.5 miles if you walk the road down to the reservoir view and take the byway a OS map is useful to skirt the village of East Cocker and return up the road almost opposite the farm. We really enjoyed our stay her, can I faulty it ? .....nit picking may be the fact you hear the odd train from the railway line a couple of hundred yards away All in all a well recommended CL

Not Ducking this one

Great site, ease of access, welcome by staff and lovely views. Male and Female toilet but no showers. Shop and café useful and well stocked, bread and sausages really good. Nice to see collies working the geese. Friendly goat in field next to the site. Some road and rail noise but not intrusive or a problem. Nice walk to pub in East Cocker for good food and drink. As Nell says plenty of POI in area, we visited the RNAS museum and Montecute house. Also went to RSPB reserve at West Sedgefield for nice walk and variety of birds.
