Ease of arrival/welcome

First time visit

The site is easy to find, about 1ml off the A37, Yeovil/Dorchester road, by following the Goose Slade Farm brown signs. It was a pleasant surprise to find that it now has a couple of hardstanding pitches, as we'd had a few days of heavy rain prior to our arrival and were a bit concerned about the condition of the site field. However it still looked fine if we had wanted to pitch up on the grass. There are open views from the site, and the fun of watching the goose procession each day. There is a small dog walk adjacent to the site, but the lanes about are quiet enough for a longer dog walk. The nearest pub is in the village of East Coker and is about 1ml  away. There are many N/T properties close by, e.g. Barrington Court & Montecute House. Also Ham Hill Country Park is close by and well worth a visit if only for the extensive views. We only stayed 3 nights this trip but will definitely come back here again and do more exploring in the area.
