A great site for us

We stay on this site several times a year visiting our grandchildren , who live nearby. This is a very simple site no frills or extra’s. Basic clean functional toilet facilities. Alan the owner is very helpful and laid back . No stupid rules just be respectful of others. Amazing views and real countryside feel . If you need anything just knock on his door and he will always help . This is not a site where the owners are always popping round . If you’re a season caravan or motorhomer you know how to look after yourself. The road noise is only apparent when the wind is in one direction. For those that complain in their review I say . Stay on a big site and leave Grange Farm to those that appreciate the non fussy feeling. We will be visiting for many years to come

Simple and friendly

Lovely views from simple field on small farm. Easy to get taxis into local towns and cities. Basic facilities. Road noise but not near by.

A handy CL

Used this site for two nights while visiting friends in the area. Booking was all done by email with a request for payment in advance by cheque which wasn't a problem. Finding the site was straightforward using the directions given. As you can see from the directions it is very close to the Motorway which is handy in one sense but also be aware that this does give a constant background noise of traffic which is why I've only rated 3/5 stars for tranquility. We never met the owners during our stay which again is why I've marked 4/5 for ease of arrival and welcome. There is a small washroom in the corner of the barn which is handy - but only cold water at the sink so really just for handwashing. It's always useful to have a toilet on a CL as it saves too many toilet emptying trips!! Water tap, rubbish bins and CDP point were all obvious and serviceable. The views from the site are lovely and it's certainly in a perfect location for exploring this area of the Wirral but just be aware of the motorway noise.

no consideration of visitors private space

I booked earlier this year and visited this month the grass hadn’t been cut on pitches also the traffic seemed louder then my first visit neither of these was a big deal. I went to the house to inform them of my arrival and was told where pitch. Pitches need to be clearly marked where pitches start and finish not just a number on wall or fence. As the CAMC sites we get good spacing, the problem for me 4 units on site 2 of which had parked to one side I had to pitch in-between these 2 units. My caravan was about 11 feet from 1 unit and my awning about 13 feet from unit the other side at no time in the weeks stay did the owners came to see us. Which I would have raised this issue but I don’t feel it would have done any good. Alan did come to me just as I was go out about another issue I pay him at that time he thanked me but still never asked if everything else was okay. When I stayed on this site few year ago someone on site lit a barbecue and the smoked filled the caravan I close all windows on a hot day to stop it entering the caravan. When told the site owner they said I leave it to the people to do the right thing for others. Also at that time caravans was squeezed in close also. That should have been a red flag. This was my second visit that more then 5 units on site. I feel the site seen for the income only with little customer care. I understand it a working farm and the owners do not have all the time in the world, But 99% of my site stays are on CL site which many are also working farms so I have many comparisons to say this was the last time I will go to this CL.

Quiet little site

Quiet little site on a working farm with nice grass field and scenery (don't touch the electric fence keeping the sheep in!). Was worried at first that the noise from the very nearby M53 would be disturbing but found it quietened down and didn't notice it at all when I went to sleep or next morning. I didn't bother with electric hook up or water as I was only there for one night. Pretty countryside surroundings. Toilet facilities basic but clean. Wasn't immediately clear which door to approach to find the owner to pay on arrival, but worked it out.

An excellent find

We had never visited either this site or the Wirral before but we would certainly now return to both locations. We had a friendly welcome from Mrs Oakley who helped us set up in the best spot that was left on an already near full site. The motorway noise was not obvious and more than compensated for by the rural setting and good views. Excellent toilets on site. Very convenient central spot for exploring the Wirral. As motorhomers we also found that there is an excellent free car park with large bays on the western approach promenade as you near New Brighton.

Handy cl

Yes I agree, the grass cuttings are not picked up and on a damp morning it finds it way into your caravan. Can be very annoying. Yes its a working farm but no problem at all. The toilet we didnt use as we are self sufficient, but did have a look, and yes it could have been better. There is slight motorway noise but nothing that would keep you awake. It is very handy for visiting most areas and sites around. I think we stayed for 8 nights.

Good base to explore Wirrall & Liverpool

Lovely rural surroundings, sheep, horses and chickens in adjacent fields to entertain. Only downside was the background drone of motorway. Owner friendly and apologised for grass being a little longer than usual, though needed a cut it wasn't a problem, more 'natural' than manicured. But with the bonus of toilets on site. Bus route to Liverpool and rail station only 2.5 miles away, which we cycled with ease (there being a cycle from site). A good central base to explore. Port Sunlight a recommended visit.

Little Gem

We have a 30ft motorhome and many times we have difficulty using CLs, but not this one. We had no problems with access, no problems with soggy grass because we went on a hard standing out side a barn, the toilet was nice and clean and the taxi companies could find us. Finally easy access from the motorway network. we will certainly be using this one again. Thank you

NI WANDERERS

Disappointed - Very Restrictive entrance for units. Working farm not suitable for children. Were offered the farmyard as was booked up. This is not appropriate for any units.
