Perfect intro to CL sites

Lovely, peaceful site. Large grass paddock, well-screened from the road, surrounded by a mature hedge providing privacy. Level, with a huge amount of space between pitches and plenty of hook-ups to provide good choice of positions. Spotless and modern facilities, good free Wi-Fi. Very friendly, helpful and easy-going proprietor. Lovely area, with the Welsh coast comfortably within a day trip. Great introduction for newcomers to CL sites. Choice of Oswestry, Welshpool and Shrewsbury for larger towns and supermarkets.

En route home stopover

Friendly welcome to generous sized CL. Could pitch anywhere with ehu and tap close by. Handily placed fir walking on the Severn Way and Offa's Dyke Path. New Punch Bowl Tavern serves excellent Indian menu. Facilities being offered are very welcome, kept very clean but needed a little bit of maintenance tbh...dirty roof off-putting. Also the whole site grass needed cutting, fortunately weather was dry so didn't really affect us. It was OK as a 2 night stopover on the way home from touring in Wales but please be aware that the B class Road location is quite noisy at times, very very fast and motorists seem to have little respect if any for speed limit signs and very bold road markings.

A Premier CL!

This has to be the finest CL we have stayed at over the 15 years or so we have been members of the Club. Very friendly and helpful owners who rendered invaluable help when my touring caravan water pump failed. Excellent toilet and shower facilities; easy site access and, as stated, very close to an inexpensive fuel station and mini supermarket. Many thanks to Annette and Malcolm.

Lovely.

We have just got back from a six night stay at this lovely site.We really enjoyed our stay. Two toilets one with shower.Information shed, all lovely and clean. Malcolm told us to run our waste water into the trees, they must have been glad of a drink as it has been so dry. Very large pitches on well cut grass. We visited Shrewsbury, Llangollen,Chirk,Oswestry,we even had a trip to the seaside at Tywyn.Just 58 miles each way,but well worth it for the scenery and the little train ride. We would use this site again. It has everything.

Nice Stay

On arrival, there was an information sheet (with our name on it) set in the entrance gate, useful. As we were entering, we met Annette, a lovely lady who was very welcoming. There’s lots of space, so plenty of choice on pitching, indeed, Annette encouraged us to pitch anywhere we liked. There are two toilets, one of which also has a shower. These were very clean and clearly well looked after. There’s an information room/shed that has a collection of books for those that like to read. Free WiFi is available. Access to the site itself is very easy, with no narrow roads/lanes to negotiate, satnav took me straight to it. Having had quite a bit of rain before our arrival, no problems with soft ground. All in all, an excellent site with friendly owners, in a lovely location. We wouldn’t hesitate to use again, if in the area.

A little gem

Booked this site last minute and we were delighted with it. A real gem. Lots of space and beautiful views. Sat in the sun sheltered from the wind by the big hedge. Nice walks by the River Severn and up the hill to Admiral Rodney’s pillar which you can see from the site. Malcom made us very welcome and I am sure we will return in the future.

One of my favourite sites in the UK

I have been coming to this site for over 5 years now Malcolm and Annette always welcome us with a smile as they do to the many friends we have had the privilege to meet on this beautifully kept site. As a CL site it is right up with the top sites. The facilities are always clean and well kept and Malcolm and Annette are always around to chat and guide you over local places to visit and places of interest. A 10 minute walk down the road takes you to a lovely country pub which serves English and Indian food and is dog friendly as is the site. If you are looking for a quite peaceful friendly site you will not be disappointed.

Not totally tranquil

This site is well kept but we found a number of drawbacks. There was a fair degree of noise from a number of sources. The road was the primary origin at certain times of day. During our stay, helicopters were ever present passing very close to the site. There were yapping dogs close by and a mechanical noise emanating from beyond the hedge for prolonged periods. This is very tall being some ten feet high thus eliminating any decent views unless you are lucky to be given a pitch in the corner where distant hills were just visible. The proprietor took our money and thereafter was never seen again.

Delightful, well kept, peaceful site

Whilst we only stayed the one night, very likely we will be back again. Firstly the field, is flat, well kept easy pitches. The facilities (loo/shower) are spotless and clearly well maintained. We were met by Malcolm who showed us to our pitch and explained everything which was great. Weather was not great, but made no difference to us. We opted to walk to the local pub in the evening for a meal, and is only a 10 min stroll on a pavement. If you like Asian/Curry style food, you will NOT be disappointed. Its a Pub with a franchise inside selling Indian style food. Cannot rate it highly enough, superb fresh food, and very reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the stay, and nighttime was very, very quiet. Definitely stay again, well looked after site

Beautiful CL site

I recently had a 2 night stay. The site was easily accessible from the road and the pitches were well spaced out on level well mown grass. I was shown to my pitch by Ann and was told where all the facilities were located. The water waste and recycling were at one corner of the field and were well maintained. I did not used the shower facilities but they looked spotlessly clean. As the weather was so good I managed to visit Bala lake and Llangollen as well as buying a day rover to travel on the north Wales coast. A very peaceful stay.
