Fantastic CL

This is a marvelous CL, we stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is immaculate and the owners take great pride in it with beautiful flower beds and little hedges separating the pitches. Pitches are very spacious and there is a large area in the middle for children to run off steam. Each pitch has access to water and waste and the chemical point and toilet and shower is only a short walk. Our only slight quibble would be you need 50p for a shower. The site is in the quieter area of the Lakes but in easy reach to all the main attractions. Our children loved Whinlatter forest and climbing some of the 600-800m mountains. Would definitely come back here again.

Best CL in Lake District

We returned for our third fortnightly visit to this site and will return next year. Everything you need on a CL better than a club site any day, not that we've stayed on one for years! Nothing is too much trouble for Mark or Graham, ease to site your outfit on large pitches most with fabulous views, the weather we had added to it. Easy access and to get to from with local amenities close to hand. This corner of Cumbria has plenty to offer with lakes, beaches, harbours, walks galore all within an easy distance as is the borders. Idyllic and quiet countryside to relax in. It ticks all our boxes for a fantastic time away.

Perfect.

Spent a week here and couldn't fault it. Immaculately kept and friendly helpful owners. Handy for the coast and western lakes without too much driving. Will definitely be back.

Great CL

We've just returned from a 6 night break at this great CL. Lovely peaceful large lawned site with spacious pitches, all with their own waste and water points. The views are amazing, and we had some cracking sunsets. Highly recommended.

Lovely site

We stayed here 7-14 May 2019, using the site as a base for walking this part of the England Coast Path. On arrival we saw our pitch was reserved for us, and Mr. Abbot gave us a warm welcome, and showed us where everything was. The site is sloping away from the house, but this just gave better views of the countryside across the valley, and plenty of wooden blocks were available for levelling up. A very well-kept site, and we would definitely return here if in the area. -

Why stay anywhere else?

The pictures don't do this site justice our expectations were exceeded. We had a commanding pitch with views all round, even the heifers in the field next to us were amusing and playful. Hosts informative, engaging and made us feel welcome at all times even offering me a go on the sit and ride mower which I declined as he made perfect lines. Pitches all had access to several drains and taps to hook up to along with electricity. Access to site easy with wide gate into landscaped garden, even the birds had a hand at messing the bark up in the beds every day. Supplied with folio of things to do. We were there from Tuesday after Easter until 5 th May and more an adult only site until 3rd May meeting some great couples, sharing drinks, nibbles, experiences and helping couples on their first outing with their caravan who we will be keeping in touch with. WC impeccable and shower did too although we did not use. Chemical disposal clean and easy to use. Play area for children if you have any. Not far from amenities fuel, supermarkets, restaurants not forgetting the beautiful area on your doorstop. Handy for Scotland too. Nothing negative to say about the site apart from experience the delight yourself and well done to the owners.

A Gem of a site

Not far from Cockermouth town centre. Lowes Water, Crummock Water & Butttermere within a short drive away. A bonus to have service pitches.

Great Little CL

Excellent lawned site with nice views. Good clean facilities. WiFi included too. Well worth a look as handy for Western Lakes.

Nice site

A nice CL with good facilities located a few miles west of Cockermouth, so handy for the western lakes and the coast. As others have said it's on a fair slope, but the owner provides plenty of levelling blocks, so it's not an issue. The provision of water and waste to each pitch makes life easier, and there's a toilet and shower (extra charge for the shower)

Excellent

Stayed for four nights, first class facilities and impeccably maintained. Slightly sloping site but no problem as a plentiful supply of blocks. Thoroughly recommended.
