Another enjoyable stay….

We have returned to Orchard Lodge for another peaceful break before the site closes for the winter. Everything is as good as before and the only change was the beautiful autumn colours of the trees. We will definitely be back in 2024. Thanks to Peter and Julie for their assistance with our Sister’s booking when the email didn’t work…..they are always helpful and accommodating. See you next year!

Peaceful site

Easy to find and a very warm welcome from Peter. Superb location for discovering the Cotswolds. Lots of information in the 'shed' and Peter recommended several pub/restaurants, all of which we tried and were not disappointed. Great WiFi although the TV reception was temperamental (probably due to the rather inclement weather). The only reason we deducted a star was because we have a Basecamp 4 which has a rear attached awning that could not fit on our allocated hard standing pitch. However Peter kindly accommodated our change of pitch the following day when another pitch became available.

Great as a base to explore the Cotswolds

We had 5 nights here in September 2023. Arrival was very easy and Julie came over to greet us as we were setting up. The weather that week included a terrific thunderstorm & we lost the power a couple of times, due to the storm. But the site owners Julie & Peter were brilliant at keeping us informed. They are a mine of information about the local area. It is a lovely site to uses as a base to explore the Cotswolds.

What A Gem

From the moment we arrived this place was perfect ! Peter greeted us warmly with all the helpful information we may need for a great stay. The site was very well looked after and so very peaceful. Peter was very helpful with details of local cycling routes and village information. The surrounding area was exceptional and this was probably one of our best sites so far. Thank you Peter and Family, keep up the good work !

Absolute Gem

First time we have stayed at a CL site, we have always tended to book the larger sites. The two sites are either side of the beautiful house, one being a grass field next to the very quiet road. The other predominantly hard standing set slightly further back. Both back onto fields of sheep. We found the site extremely easy to find, the sat nav was spot on for a change. Peter, the host, came to meet us within 15 mins of our arrival, and was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. There is an information hut with maps, leaflets, suggested walks etc which was helpful. Bibury itself is a 20 mins walk into the village(personally I wouldn’t drive down during the day as it gets very busy and the parking is a bit of a free for all. I feel for the residents as it must drive them mad). We walked along the river to the lovely village of Coln St Aldwyns(around a 6 mile round trip) where there is a lovely local store and tea room. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane, a five minute walk away. The buses are infrequent but we caught the 10.37 into Cirencester which arrived on time, the return journey was spot on too. You can go all the way up to Bourton on the water I believe. The wi-fi is free and extremely good, we managed to watch VIrgin go with no buffering at all so didn’t need to fiddle with the Tv aerial. Each pitch has its own hook up and water and the chemical waste is a very short walk away, although there are no showers or toilets. We couldn’t find any negatives at all with the site, if you want peace and quiet in a lovely surrounding then it’s perfect.

a lovely adults only CL with fully serviced pitches

Very easy to find this site travelling down the M5. Although Bibury can be busy with tourists, the site sits quietly away from the throng of visitors and yet is still an easy walk into the village for meals/drinks at the 2 local hotels/pubs. We now prefer hardstanding pitches with full services and Orchard Lodge ticks all the boxes. We stayed for 2 weeks with lots to see and do in the area. Cirencester is only a few miles away and is a lovely town and has a plentiful choice of shops. Peter and Julie are very welcoming and even sell lovely produce from their garden. Would highly recommend the site.

A cracking site for the perfect break

A lovely well maintained site in the perfect location as a base or local walks. The owners are absolutely fantastic from the point of welcome, friendly chats, a change to purchase their home grown veg & more. All pitches are well maintained with plenty of space, good tv signal, Wi-Fi & info but. The perfect break. Thank you

Another lovely stay at Orchard Lodge

This is a great CL, as was our 6th stay here, A lovely greeting on arrival from Julie and Peter. There are many places to visit from here, only a 20-minute walk to Bibury, plus many other destinations easily reached by car, great eateries recommended by our hosts, also a visit to the "Classic Car Motor Hub" recommended by them and well worth a visit. Our thanks to them both for making us so welcome, We will be back.

A great touring base

Welcomed on arrival by Peter and given useful information pack and some good local info. The CL had everything we like in a peaceful site, fully serviced hard standing pitches and no dogs. The free wifi was an unexpected bonus and very useful to plan our 7 days. It was a great base for touring the local villages but our favourite day was exploring Cirencester just down the road, a lovely town with all you need for provisions and a good choice of shops, cafes and restaurants. The local lanes and tracks make for great walking and even better cycling. Having moved on to a newly refurbished club site we came to the conclusion that we’ll definitely be sticking to CLs such as Orchard Lodge in future.
