We arrived at the site without a booking on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. Jean was very helpful and sorted us out a nice level pitch and explained the facilities. Electricity is metered but the first £2 is included in the fee and that was enough for our 2 night stay even with my partner using the shower in the van, hair dryer, coffee machine, kettle tv etc so no problem there. The shower is indeed in a portaloo style cabin and on a £1 slot but a CL with a shower - wonderful! The toilet also is in a portaloo style cabin but it is a proper domestic toilet and with full flush, electric light and a sink with running water so not quite as basic as portrayed in some previous reviews. The cabins are locked but the location of the key is explained and constantly accessible but only to CL residents and not visitors to the cattery or stables.  Personally we enjoyed looking out over the fields and horses. This is a quiet and well kept CL which we will certainly return to.
