One of the best

We’ve stayed on many CLs but this is in our top 3. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings, big hard standing superpitches and a toilet and shower block. Great value and loads to do in the area. Very friendly owners. It appears to be full a lot of the time and I’m not surprised. A real gem!

Fab CL!

We spent 5 nights on this incredibly peaceful CL and would happily have stayed longer. The five hard standing pitches are all fully serviced, it’s really sheltered, there are loads of birds and the surrounding area is beautiful. The provision of toilets and showers is a real bonus too, and we felt it was really good value. David appears to get lots of regular visitors and it’s easy to see why!

Lovely location

We booked this CL for 2 nights and liked it so much we stayed longer, nice rural area, pitches are large but ramps required for most of the pitches. Facilities are good and toilets and showers are clean. David the owner is very nice and helpful, we managed to stay longer due to someone cancelling, it is a very busy site so best to book ahead if possible. Our only complaint regarding our stay would be that some dogs were loose at times and came near our motorhome and annoyed our dogs and some noise coming from other buildings , wigwam style chalets/ huts, apart from that we will return.

Not to be missed

I was approaching this site from the North West so was worried about the mention of a narrow bridge to the left just before the site when coming in from the South. Don't worry if you decide to come in from A980 near Torphins. The route and the bridge is used by a service bus so is plenty wide enough. The site is excellent including the serviced pitches for which there is no extra charge.

Fabulous CL Site

This is a gorgeous CL site with generous pitches in a quiet location about 2.5 miles from Banchory. The site is shared with some wigwams and lodges but everything is well-spaced and it all looks really nice. The loos and showers were clean and fresh, and everything about the site was pleasant and well-kept. This is one of the best CL sites we have stayed on (and we have been to some really good ones) and we will definitely be back.

The perfect CL?

I haven't reviewed this site before, simply because of my selfishness and my desire to always get on it when I wanted. However, having got all my bookings for next year(2018) confirned, I will review this site. lol Obviously, you can't please everyone, but the toilets are spacious, clean, and heated in winter. I believe that David has now installed a camera looking down on the wigwams, so any misbehaviour can be dealt with. How anyone can complain about the fact that the site is shared with wigwams and lodges, defeats me. The site is VERY spacious and the individual pitches are large; there is plenty of space for the caravan, car, and awning. The walk across the road from the site is ideal, and is almost level all the way round, and there are additional walks which can be added on to it. The area surrounding the site is beautiful, often in the evenings there is not a sound to be heard, except from the nearby river. On your doorstep, is the whole of Royal Deeside, affording many walks and lovely drives. Is this the perfect CL? It has to be the bargain of the year at just £12. (I should whisper that in case David and Sheena have any ideas!!) lol

Could be so much better

Nice site but with a little more effort could be very good. The towel in the toilet was not changed during the 5bdays of our visit. No displayed rules about dogs - the dog from the motorhome next to us left his calling card just outside our awning 😡 A fight between two other dogs resulted in one of the owners being bitten. The adjoining pods and chalets can make this site feel crowded and we were disturbed by really noisy children up to 23.30 ! It's a pity that the Club rules for club sites did not apply to this cl.

Early Summer visit to Greenpark

This fine CL is situated about 3 mls outside of Banchory, on Royal Deeside, along a side road of decent width, so no problems with traffic. This very peaceful, well sheltered site has 5 large Hardstanding, serviced pitches, toilets and free shower and all for £12pn. There are also 5 pods and 4 cabins on the site but we were not bothered by excessive noise from those that were occupied. There is an old abandoned railway line opposite the gate which leads into Brathens Woods and is ideal for walking ones dog(s). There are lots of places of interest in the area to suit all taste. Numerous castles, Crathes & Drum being the closest, Balmoral is about 30 mls away and beyond that there's Braemar and Glen Shee. Scolty Tower, behind Banchory makes for a pleasant although steepish walk and for the more adventurous the Cairngorm Hills are quite close. For the cyclist there's the Deeside way, which in part utilises the old railway line from Aboyne to Ballater. Banchory has both a Tesco and Morrisons and both have petrol filling stations, as well as the usual tourist shops and cafes etc. We would certainly not hesitate to use this site again.
