Best weekender yet

Just got back from this 3 night stay. Basic off grid with the advantage of pub and dining on site. (We dined twice and the meals were great value). Very welcoming on arrival. Local walks along the canal with local mill pond to sit by and pass the summer days away. Fairly flat and well cut grass field. Easy access to pub. Can't believe we are just off the main road into Stone as it's so peaceful. If you like off grid basics then this is for you. The price is low and gives a budget weekend away

A good site (and great pub) if you are travelling up and down the country

We received a really genuine welcome when we arrived after travelling 300 miles from the south coast to our home in Scotland. Nice level site with plenty of room. The road noise put us off a little (but we live in a quiet village) and it would have been nice if the grass cuttings weren't left for us to walk in to the caravan but I'm being fussy as it certainly provided the rest we needed and at £7.50 a night its a bargain. It is only about 7 miles from the M6. The pub served fabulous real ale and delicious food at a reasonable price - I would particularly recommend the liver and bacon. The dog was made very welcome and the canal walk is a few hundred yards through a beautiful village.

Beautifully tranquil location

Great sized field close to the canal for walking. Lovely pub with really friendly owners and staff and excellent home cooked food and local beer. We will be back- thank you

one of the best CL sites we have visited !!

We had to say how very welcoming the landlord was to us & our two Weimaraners !! We have visited this site quite a few times now, on the first visit we had a very nice meal & after we had finished ours, the land lady who i believe is the currant landlords mother came out with steak for the dogs which was a lovely gesture ! Nice well kept site with lovely walks at the nearby canal We will be using this site every time we go to Stafford Show Ground, very near & handy !! Many thanks for a great welcome & lovely Food every time Sharon, Paul,( Max & Lola the two dogs)

Nice Pub Site

Stayed here on our return from the lakes, nice quiet site with lots of animals to keep my little one entertained.  Had a good meal in the pub which was very family friendly.

Great pub

Lovely pub, good food, very friendly hosts, very quiet, laid well back off the main road. When we arrived it was bucketting down and I was a bit worried about getting stuck on the field but after it stopped raining I walked on it and it was very firm and well drained. The host had a 4wd and said we could have a tow off but this wasn't neccessary. England were playing late that evening and the locals were very quiet leaving the car park. Great for children as it adjoins a field with donkeys, sheep, pigs and hens (well they kept us amused! ) Will stop there again.
