Pleasant site for a couple of days

As previous visitors have stated this site is sloping and also very very lumpy, we didn't think we would ever get level, however it just seemed to drop into the right holes and we were pitched evenly.  Not the owners fault but the site was absolutely sodden, more like a quagmire, very long grass and being wet wasn't ideal for getting in and out of cars etc. Returning from Durham to our van we did get stuck in the middle of the field due to the wetness of the field. Fresh water (in my opinion) was a little too far away, I couldn't even find it! walking around the large field the other caravanner on site didn't even bother to mention to me where it was and according to the owner Tom they come all the time, obviously not all caravanners are helpful (btw it was at the entrance of the site where all the facilities were) and I had to drag it up a hill.  Site is in a good spot for the area. Owner Tom was very nice and 'let us get on with it' which we prefer.  Only trouble is the weekend was ruined by heavy rain and winds all Easter weekend so will have to re-visit when the weather gets better but at £8 a night was a bargain. Tom informed us that they cut the grass in June/July so most of the time I suppose it will be left long, so if you like well manicured lawn type sites I would give this one a miss.
