Fantastic site with Superb facilities

Only stayed one night but the first of many, Friendly people and happy to help you, The showers and toilet are very clean, It's a bit like using your own on suit, The pitches are very big with your own water tap and grey waste disposal, Can't wait to go back as we only live 10 miles away will be ideal for winter weekends.

Peace in glorious surroundings.

I can’t add a lot to the other reviews - good serviced HS pitches, immaculate toilet and hand wash basin, friendly owners who gave us a very useful leaflet of information, the list goes on. Above all else, three things stood out for me - the well kept and well thought out site, the peace of the area and the animals. The goats and alpacas (there are now two) were in the field immediately behind the pitches, the ducks and rare breed pigs were opposite, while Gerald the donkey and the miniature Shetland ponies were just outside the CL gate. The O2 mobile signal was good on site being at least 3G at all times. There is also a 20 pitch site run by Andrew and Claire (which looked immaculate) but it is completely separate from the CL and, once on site, you don’t even know it’s there. I’m not usually a fan of sites that will not take dogs, even though we no longer have one. However, having seen the proximity of the animals and the open water of the duck pond, I fully understand the decision to make this a child free and dog free site. Arlington Court NT is nearby and well worth a visit to see the carriage collection alone. Barnstaple, Lynton/Lynmouth and the whole of that stretch of the North Devon Coast are within easy reach. We hope to return.

What a great CL

We arrived with a warm welcome from Andrew and pitched up on very good hard standing with both fresh and grey water points on all pitches, each pitch has a lot of room so you are not on top of your neighbour. Everything was clean and tidy and well looked after and the toilet was cleaned each day. If you are an animal lover this is the site for you, we were entertained by the Goats,Alpaca,Pigs,Horses ( on the small side) Donkey and the Ducks being put to bed each evening. A big thank you to our hosts Andrew and Claire. Enjoyed every minute.

Great CL in North Devon

We had a week here in June. The weather was really good, if a little too hot, although the site did get some lovely breeze so it wasn't too bad. The CL is great. We loved having the fully serviced pitch, such a treat not having to carry water and waste around. The animals were a nice attraction too, not everyday we eat breakfast with an Alpaca in a field behind us! We would certainly recommend Hallsdown Farm and would love to visit again next time we can get to Devon.

Beautiful Hallsdown

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in the middle of April 2018 and it was beautiful. Lovely Andrew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. His pet goats are so friendly. We hand fed them swede which they absolutely loved but best to check with Andrew what they can and can't eat. Valley of rocks walk down in Linton is spectacular... take a camera, and town of Linton is lovely too. We'd been in Linton before but this CL was the best we've been to in years. Andrew gave us a very well put together information leaflet (written by Claire) that includes everything you need to know about the local area pubs, shops, doctors, dentist and more. We'll definitely come back here later this year.

Oe of the best

Visited during an extremely wet & windy week but was really impressed with the welcome and also the views, position and tranquility. Great serviced hard standing pitches, toilet available in information hut. Will definitely return when next wanting to visit North Devon.

We Loved it Here

After choosing an area I knew of this cl as it had been mentioned on the club website. After reading the reviews and checking out Google Earth everything about ticked our boxes. All was as we had expected but a little confusing when we entered as it did not look like the website. All became clear though. The cl had moved to the other side of the farm house and the old field had been changed to a commercial site, a good piece of diversification as I'm sure once it gets known it will be popular. The cl and other site are nothing to do with each other. The field was very gently sloping but the pitches had been levelled and hard cored for the van. All had ehu, water and drainage points. There is a wooden hut in the top corner which houses a WC and info room. The location is secluded down a lane about a mile from the main road. It is narrow for a short stretch but shouldn't pose a problem. The location as it is, made for a silent site and there being no light pollution it was also very dark on a night. The owners had a pet’s corner of animals. Behind the caravans the field had 3 goats, an Alpaca and two pot bellied pigs, In front of the vans a small lake had a variety of ducks (not the common Mallard) and then on the approach drive there were Shetland ponies and a donkey. As old as we are these gave us some amusement and a talking point with the owners. The site is a little exposed being on the western edge of Exmoor but with distant views through the trees on one side of the site. Just a very short walk up the lane takes you to a small reservoir with perimeter walk and in the other direction in 1/2 mile there is a small farm shop. The nearest beach/town is at Combe Martin with some great coastal walks along the edge of the moor. Local pubs are plentiful for drinks and eats. This is an adult’s only site presumably because of the pond and no dogs because of the pets. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here even though the weather was poor. We would certainly return if in this area again. The owners were both very pleasant and had time to chat when we saw them out and about.

Excellent find

Lovely peaceful clean and well maintained cl. Tap drain and electric made all the difference to a relaxing stay. Could not have asked for better setting. We were looking for peace and tranquility which we definitely found. Animals were entertaining and owners friendly and helpful. Easy access to all areas. Would definitely stay again if in this area and will recommend to others. Thank you for our ideal stay. This site is a credit to its owners.
