5* CL

Just recently returned from this lovely CL. The site is situated a 10 minute walk from Louth centre which is a super little market town with some lovely tea rooms and independent shops. Hubbards Hills also a 10 minute walk along the public footpath across the golf course. There are lots of great walks, circular and linear, direct from the site across fields and paths to surrounding villages with views over the Wolds. The site itself has hard standing pitches which are well spaced, all are south facing providing the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. Access to the site is extremely easy and not too far from the Louth bypass. Louise and Doug are the perfect host, available if needed for any help and advise. This is definitely a site I shall be returning to. I was reluctant to give this review in case I am unable to find availability in the future but Louise and Doug are worthy of the praise.

Fabulous CL Site

Stayed June 2023 for 3 nights. In a large Moho, 8.6m long, 2.3m wide & 3.23m high. No problem getting into the site and a lovely welcome from Doug after we’d phoned the mobile numbers on the gate as requested. Beautiful peaceful well cared for site with lovely views. Huge well spaced hardstanding pitches with their own EHU. Fresh water, grey waste & bins including recycling within easy access. EE tethered iphone worked well for our online needs of TV & Internet. We found Louth a lovely place to walk to and round, need a certain level of fitness to come back up the hill. We like cycling (electric bikes) away from traffic as much as possible & found quiet roads away in the surrounding villages. We also have a Honda SH350i Scooter which we put to good use to explore the area which has family connections I’ve recently discovered. We also met Louise who was also very welcoming and we purchased a jar of their delicious own produced runny honey. Highly recommended site.

LOVELY SITE

We stayed at Happyford for 3 nights in August and could have stayed longer, Doug and Louise were most helpful and this is a well maintained site with lovely views. The information "hut" contained lots of leaflets on local attractions, walk etc, which we found very useful as we did not know the area. The elsan point is clean and easy to use, better than many CL's. All in all a great site, thank you.

Lovely site

We stayed for 5 nights at this lovely site. Very peaceful, with lovely views. The walk to Louth is lovely, and it’s a very sweet town. There is some lovely countryside and Lincoln Cathedral is a must.

What a lovely CL

Had 3 nights at Happyford, only live 17 miles away but chose this site so we could walk into Louth (which we love). It’s no more than a 20 minute walk into town, be a bit longer coming back as it’s a bit uphill. The views from the pitch are stunning, nice level hard standing pitch. Previous reviews have mentioned road noise, admittedly at times you can here it but it doesn’t detract from the tranquility of this site, we won’t book a site if there is a lot of road noise. The only negative I have is that if there are 5 units on site, the voltage drops, it is 10amps but you would have to be selective of what you switch on. Nice circular walk into Louth, then through Hubbards Hills and back is about 4.5 miles. Overall, will we be returning to Happyford, absolutely, it’s a stunning site.

Very peaceful location

Stayed for 11 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I was working in the area and it was an excellent location to set up as home for the 2 weeks. Louise and Doug were very friendly and helpful. I loved watching the harvest being gathered in the fields and listening to owls and Buzzards. Excellent place and I will return when I am in the area again.

Lovely quiet Cl

Had a four night visit to this site which turned out to be not long enough. Doug and Louise are very friendly and are good hosts. The site is south facing and all pitches are large, level and on hard standing. Four pitches have excellent views over open countryside and one pitch is parallel to a large Leylandii hedge. There is a toilet available but it is not on the field, nevertheless very welcome. Services are all in close proximity to the pitches. The site is not on a bus route but is about ¾ mile walk from the town centre. It is a long uphill hike back to the site. You can walk across the golf course and through the local park which is longer but a much more pleasant walk. There are several plus points to this site but the two most important for me are total darkness, no lights and total silence with no traffic noise. Next visit we will book for longer.

Fantastic CL

Louise & Doug made us feel very welcome on arrival & showed us to our pitch which was a gr8 size. This site is lovely & peaceful with flat hard standing pitches & stunning views over the Lincolnshire Wolds. The site is a short walk to Louth, which is full of independent shops, cafes & restaurants. We loved our stay here & was sad to leave. Would not hesitate to recommend & to return to.

Fantastic hosts and site in a great location

We booked to stay mid June 2021 for two nights en route to touring North Yorkshire and enjoyed our stay so much we were fortunate to get a second two night booking on our return journey. The hosts (Doug & Louise) are very welcoming and informative about the site and local area. Louth is wonderful with a local market and good shopping and cafe's just a 10 to 15 minute walk from site by pavement or a gentle 45 min stroll along the scenic walk via hubbard's hills. we would highly recommend this site!
