A Lovely Find!

Looking for another 'Close to Home' escape, we came across this site and what a lovely site it is! Janet is a wonderfully warm and welcoming lady who seemed genuinely delighted to greet new visitors. There is a one-way system for entry and exit but be warned- although not too tight, you do need a wide swing if you want to be confident of clearing the walls either side of the entrance with ease.  The site itself is sloping (you will need a leveller) and the ground quite soft (there had been some rain) but this caused no issue to us. We were 2 caravans for 4 nights. The site is well-tended and peaceful, with some great views. Situated near the Chesterfield Canal there are plenty of public footpaths across country to follow (with or without a dog) and Retford, Gainsborough, Bawtry and Doncaster are all within easy access by car or bus. Although soon to close for the winter, we have already assured Janet that she has not seen the last of us and that we, along with our friends and family, will definitely be repeat visitors from Spring 2016!
