Peace and Quiet

Visited June 16. We were greeted upon arrival and received a warm welcome from Mrs Drury who showed us the facilities. This site is beautiful and quiet. Lovely large field that is slightly sloping. The grass was well cut and everywhere was clean, tidy and well maintained. We didn't need levelling blocks but you may need them in other parts of the field. All we could hear were the birds and had the site all to ourselves for the weekend. A short walk down a very quiet road leads you to Chesterfield canal (again, very picturesque). We walked to Clayworth on Saturday and the end of the canal at Misterton/Stockwith on Sunday. Gringley has a pub with a lovely beer garden (handy when you have a dog). We ate out in Bawtry (The Ship Inn - 10mins by car) and Everton (The Sun Inn - 5mins by car). Both served excellent meals. We don't usually go away for weekends but this site was close to home and we will certainly try to visit again very soon.
